Could you share what you believe are some of the smartest retirement decisions and what are some of the worst decisions...form a 30,000' view. You don't know what don't know... I'm really curious. Thanks.

Great question! I haven't really thought about this before. But here's my initial reaction. Some of the best things are to make sure you've done some sort of analysis or projection of whether you have enough saved based on 1) having as thorough of projections as possible about your future expenses and 2) seeing how much other income you'll already have to help cover them (such as Social Security and pensions), where the deficit between expenses and those other sources of income is how much you'll need to cover with investable assets. And also make sure to do some sort of planning for the non-financial aspects of retirement; what are you doing to do to have purpose, meaning, fulfillment, a reason to wake up every day, social connection, etc. in the absence of work.

Agreed. Eric's service (and my firm's service) isn't the right fit for folks looking for a one-time plan, it's meant to be an ongoing service that includes management of investments and annual tax/income/distribution planning, as well as any other relevant financial planning areas that arise throughout each year. If you're looking for a one-time plan or some other limited engagement type of service, check out www.AdviceOnlyNetwork.com

I like the internet and zoom teams etc for all my business. I actually teach classes using such platforms so it’s very convenient and comfortable for me with sharing screens.
