We encounter delays, some bad decisions with directions and few potholes along the way, but the adventure of driving across such a beautiful country made it all worth it. Costa Rica is a beautiful place. When we went it was pre-Google maps and smartphones. Luckily, someone told us to spend the extra money and rent a GPS with the rental car. We are so glad we did. Many of the roads are not marked.

You know we are a fan of ferries, so this one looks like a great way to add to your adventure!! What are you doing to use data in another country? Do you have a local plan, or do you pay to use your personal plan anywhere? So many dead ends! Awesome deal on the airbnb - those are my mind of prices!

Thanks. It was a beautiful ferry ride. We have switched our cell phone service to Google Fi for global service and it has worked well so far in Panama and Costa Rica. Hope this helps. John and Bev
