Alan is going to LOVE running his RED RACER along all the Beach Walks in Sanur... Hes a genius.....timed it perfectly!! Noticed the scooter was pretty good on the rough, bumpy bits....when it needs to be. Worried about the 200kg capacity comment though Muzza😳

Coming from USA to retire long term to Bali. Q. So on mobile phone . At airport you can get a 3 month plan internet/ etc and register your phone at the shop. So after that can you keep your new Indonesian local number or do you loose it when you get a new 3 month plan when the plan expires. Also heard you sometimes have to pay tax on your mobile phone if you are staying longer than 3 months . Ps love your content that you put out. Most helpful and a good Bali expat ambassador.

If you dont pay the tax on a permanently indo based phone then you can only extend it for 6 months. if you declare it they will unlock it and you can use it, depending on what type of phopne etc. Alans phone couldnt be used for some reason so he had to buy a new local one for about $200USD (Samsung) You can move your Bali number to the new phone if you were to do it later.

How is the health care for a mid 70s Australian like Alan, can he get medical insurance at that age as a new arrival? Good on him for giving it a go but I really think the mid 70s is too old to be retiring in Bali, different if you lived there and aged there if that makes sense but arriving in your mid 70s to "start over" as a retiree won't end well. I hope it goes ok for him mind you.

as a veteran he can get good cover from aussie even in Bali, he is about to arrange for a cataract operation locally that Veterans Affairs can reimburse.. Thats my understanding...

It is so easy to retire in Bali. Nothing is difficult. New adventure in life regardless of age it great. Health care in Bali is easy once you have your KITAS Retirement Visa (very easy to obtain) you apply for BPJS Health (same as Medicare) pay I think about $15 a month. Retiring in Bali is so very easy to do.

Hey Muzza,not on topic but just arrived yesterday. Went and saw Ketut and got on amazing deals on tours. Thanks for the tips. Went to Shishi last night too. Sort of a Muzza KZbin trip so far! Hey Muzza on news last night in Sydney, they saying u might have to pay a tax of a &150 to enter Bali u know anything about it? I was there maybe 20 years ago i had to pay money i think at Bali airport to enter & leave. I forget the price i paid now such i long time ago, but it wasnt near amount i just mention. You a good job with your vlogs mate u must be putting in a lot of your time on them

Yeah and what's he going to do when he needs advanced medical treatment/s in ongoing fashion? What if he needs two knee replacements? How are his hips? They're next. What about everything else? But he get his vet's pension so Centrelink won't stuff him around like others on the Old Age pension. Yes look, it's a better more enjoyable life. But as they get older-and-older it may not be realistic at some point. If you own a place in Australia and keep it or rent it out - which costs you money either way - then no problem you can return and have somewhere to live (once you punt any tenants - which can be a problem). But if you totally sell-up in Australia and move to Indonesia, then you may face real issues at some time down the track due to age and health. We surmise you have a monetary interest in Amandesa? That's fine but you should declare it if so. It doesn't matter because it, and any in future, will fill easily with Aussies sick of the bullshit and rules back at home. NB: You know Australia suffered one of its worst military defeats at Surabaya don't you. Maybe this old digger knows more about that. And you're buying Bintang Crystal 🙄?

No I don't have any interest in amandesa it is owned and operated by CHL.. an aussie charity set up to provide affordable housing. And no I don't drink bi tang crystal.. it was a Radler Lemon 2% beer as I was driving... but let's not let the truth get in the way of a good yarn
