Hi Muzza been watching your posts Bali was my 2nd home until my wife died and my super fund got stolen...that's life...but we built a house there about 25 years ago it was 2 storey 3 bed ensuites Aircon kitchen laundry beautiful garden the whole lot $18k...We had free land lease for 20 years with Bali friends had a ball. My health went belly up about 5 years ago and now can't travel so can't come n hava beer with you but love what ya doing keep on keeping on cobber

The rain today is from the big cyclone off the Kimberley. They are breakoff cloud streams and the cyclone is heading toward inland Australia now (or will over the next days) so the cloudstream breakoffs should clear Bali tomorrow or the next day. Yeah the owner is happy because after 30 years he owns it, IF you or your family don't pull all your hard work down at the end of the lease. So you went the 30-year lease because it's YOUR lease in YOUR name? You are WAY better off buying in your future wife's name (she is Indonesian right?) so she is the outright owner (but then when you die she will own it, not your kids or whoever in Australia). Property goes up in price over time in Indonesia, just like in Australia. Sometimes markedly so in places like Jakarta and Surabaya (and certain areas of Bali - depending on what areas are getting popular and built out). See that cut/ulcer on your right hand? Watch it. If it starts getting worse, multiplying anywhere on your body, getting itchy, getting a puss head, get the ASEPSO soap on it right away lathered twice a day and do not stop (it's cheap from the warungs - antiseptic soaps from the shops do not work). Stuff like Betadine will work on normal cuts, but not on the dirty water and perspiration skin ailment. Talk to your Indonesian wife about this, it's important (NB if you are lucky this may not affect you).
