Have just subscribed to Charles' channel, and look forward to seeing how he navigates his new life over in Thailand. Sounds like he's got his head screwed on, has the support network over there (including that of his oldest buddy), the means to live over there, and has travelled enough over there to make informed decisions. So many people are naïve, and fall into the well-trodden traps of falling in love with a Thai woman, opening a bar/business, and finding out that she's bleeding you dry, and there's nothing you can do about it (as Thai system is built to protect only Thais). I can't see Charles falling into any of those pitfalls. 👍

Good luck with the big move Charles , I’ll subscribe to your Chanel when I find the link that Greeny promised to put in the description , I’m a big Thailand lover myself , many years back one of the firefighters from the next town over was at our station on a mutual aid and was talking about his recent trip to Pattaya etc.etc. , in 2013 I made my first trip and stayed in Jomtien for three months and loved it , I’ve stayedin Phuket for the last two winters and I’m all booked for Hua Hin for a month and then two months in Phuket this winter . I’ve been considering doing 6 months over and six months back and maybe renting my house out to the visiting nurses program while I’m in Thailand .( something you might want to look into ) a friend of mine does that and gets $3000.00 a month while him and his wife head south to their place in Myrtle Beach.

Can you please make a video explaining how to handle USA bank accounts and brokerage accounts since you won't have a USA home address anymore? And phone numbers that you need for 2FA? Great videos BTW!
@jcmolette1613Ай бұрын
Talk to the managers at your financial institutuon. The information technology people at any institution have the skills to give you what you need. You just need to convince management to make things happen. My credit union can handle foreign addresses, two factor authentication by phone to international numbers or by email. If your financial institution tells you they cannot do this, then you may need to make a change.

Love to hear about other peoples perspectives on thailand and the usa. It amazes me that Charles has experienced power outages and thinks thailand is more stable. I'm 62 and have lived within 10 miles of my current location for almost my entire life and sure, when a transformer blows, power outage for 3 hours. That may have happened 3 times my whole life. I get I'm super lucky but is it really luck if nearly 40 million have the same "luck"? Its a no brainer for someone retired that is from Michigan to retire to thailand. I'm a goofball that needs the ease of bicycling, or riding a motorcycle anytime but short of that, even being from southern california, Thailand is a great choice. Glad he's going for it.

Absolute nonsense!! There are thousands of amazing houses and apartments all over Thailand for less than $400 per month, where in America or the West can you get that? I live in Thailand and Vietnam since 2016 and have never paid more than $400/£300 per month on any property and most of them are overlooking the beach. You can barely get a cardboard box under a bridge for that in the West. As for the women, there are a lot more entitled goldiggers in America and other western countries than you'll ever find in Thailand with an attitude to match 😡🤨
