I can’t lie, sometimes I wish the original trilogy would have special editions with added scenes like this man. Would make things even more emotional seeing Vader with 3PO’s head and his emotional body language from that.

4:08 is a touching scene, of how Vader change his mind for C-3PO’s fate & he wanted him to still be function. That is a nice moment of there is still some light or a piece of Anakin Skywalker inside of Darth Vader. And I love that you mention that the originals connects to the prequels.

3PO certainly wouldn’t remember Anakin. He had his memory wiped at the end of Sith. R2’s memory goes back a long way, but he only communicates through beeps, chirps, and whistles, so the continuity isn’t affected. I doubt R2 ever had a memory wipe.

No it’s been confirmed R2 remembers it all and was heartbroken of Anakin’s turn to the dark side, Vader also canonically recognized R2 in cloud city

I think George lucas messed up big time doing the last 3 movies first and killing off anakin skywalker at the end. Anakin skywalker died when I was 6 lol. He is by far the fans favourite character. Imagine the movies and stories we could have got about anakin skywalker if he had not done that. What a shame
