Yes they are back. Can we have what if vader redeemed himself before new hope and healed himself and led a rebellion. Perhaps this starts after the slave conversation with palpatine where perhaps vader remembers that he is a a Child of amu and leads the liberation of the rim.

Didn't they say Palpatine had two hidden lightsabers hidden in his counsil chambers at all times? Or just one hidden? I can't remember anymore!

We know he had 2 lightsabers because he used both to fight Maul and Savage. However against Windu and the Jedi council he only used one. I personally think he always had access to both, only used one because he didn’t think a second was necessary, but could’ve pulled the second out any time he thought he needed it. This is part of the reason why I don’t think Windu ever had Palpatine truly defeated. Palpatine always had the second saber he would later use to fight yoda. He could’ve kept fencing with mace, but he wanted to turn Anakin.

I didn’t say he pretended to lose. I said he was pretended to be weak and completely done, which was obviously true from the movie. Palpatine was faking, and the moment Anakin cut off Mace Windu’s arm, he unleashed more lightning and was still at full power
