$600 for a set of 4 Heavy Duty All-Terrain tires shipped to my house.
Not all re-treads are created equal. I have run these tires for 10+ years with ZERO problems.
Not an ad, but I get them from tirerecappers.com
If you are rich and have money to waste, go ahead and spend $2,000-$3,000 on a set of tires. These have done me well for every day use, hauling, and everything in between on MANY different trucks.

I started driving in 1970 and retreaded tires were all I could afford , my car had 14 inch tires and I could buy two tires mounted and balanced for 24 dollars . I never had one problem with them , I also drove truck for ups for 36 years they have always run them on the rear but now they have retreads on the steering wheel axle 😮

Just a note of interest...There is a speedway [asphalt circle track] in Summerville SC... we ran a car threw many..MANY... years ago. The tires approved for use was recaps by Towel City tires in Charlotte NC.. ... just a bit of interest to add to the conversation...

I've run retreads on commercial trucks for years. Knock on wood.. nary an issue. I've even had em on an old cavalier years ago. Keep in mind though.. They're illegal in some states unless part of a dual setup.

I’ve used recaps on my vehicles many times b4, but back in the day they were great cause u weren’t driving 80mph every where, our state won’t inspect your car with recaps on it !! Not sure if that ever changed or not, I’ve got farm equipment with recaps that’s probably 40 yrs old n still working

Used to have a 1-ton dually, to save money. I went and bought six retreads, paid almost a thousand Dollars for them in 1990. Within 3 months I blew all six tires, one of the tires tore my dually fender right off, cost me $3,500 to replace the fender. I will never run retreads again. There may be some good ones out there, but 99% of them are awful

You have to find a good company that really inspects the casings and does a good job installing the recap. Many places will use casings that are damaged, old, or have been recapped several times already. And, sometimes they don’t do a good job installing the caps. I’ve seen semi trailer tires that were stamped 6 times from being recapped and the case was dry rotted and cracked. That’s just asking for them to blow apart.

I'm on my 2nd set on the ole Jeep, never had an issue with their recaps. Used to buy snow tire recaps years ago and had one come apart, I believe it was due to excessive heat and tire slippage on dry roads.

Well, good for you! And hopefully other folks as well. I don't NEED tires at the moment, but i will bookmark them and SERIOUSLY CONSIDER them in the future. I know first hand how well the original BFG ATR tires are. but the price of them is stupid. some of us just can no longer afford the originals anymore.

Thought that was only done on semi tires, i put a set of 10 on a semi, used to all the time, one day the first time out all the treads flew off as soon as it got to hwy speeds, usually it would happen once in awhile but this time the whold batch failed the first time it got to 65. You couldn't pay me to run those, i threw a tread going 110 before on a regular tire

Only retreads I have ever had experience with was from TreadWright tires and it was terrible. Every tire they sent me would physically change its shape after a few months of driving on my 1999 F350. The last one on the driver front completely came apart destroying the wiring harness and FICM nearly causing me to lose control of my truck. I wonder how these are different/better?

No idea how much money he has but, most people who have money are frugal, have a budget and put thought into what they buy. Plenty of people with little money spend on things they shouldn't, in my opinion. There are a lot of people who make a lot of money who are the people with little money because they spend it all.
