well done!, producing, writing, and directing a short film that is compelling and engaging is much harder than you think, especially if the film maker has a interesting story to tell and sympathetic characters to reveal in such a limited time frame, more challenging for certain, nice work.

I like that this had plenty of story. Good pace, beautiful cinematography. Stephen King had a series with the Gunslinger and The Man In Black. The man in black was a corrupter and a low--level wizard. The ringleader reminded me of him.

I can't beleave it took me so long to find these Western Shorts. So far I have found none that I haven't liked. And I have weeks to stuff to watch at night that is so much better that $130 a month cable or the hugely overpriced garbage you pay $150 for satilite. Out of 300 satlite stations on my TV, there were only 7 that I watched and only 3 that I watched regularly ,for maybe 2 hours each night because I got up at 3am to go drive a tractor Trailor. What I thought would be a great job to have, turned to be the very pits of professions.

This was awesome! I have always wanted to be a film maker. I love western's, horror, comedy. Mostly I love movies that were made in the 80's and 90's. What camera would you recommend to a beginner filmmaker? I can't decide which one to get and I don't have much of a budget. Thanks for any help you can give me! Keep up the great work!!!
@claxtonproductions.5 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it!! I would recommend you start making films with whatever equipment/camera is available to you. I started out using a old flip video camera and editing on iMovie HD. Learning how to collaborate with others, visualizing shots and overcoming challenges that happen on set are the most important takeaways you can have when you first start out. Equipment and larger budgets can come later once you have a good grasp on the process. Best of luck on your future films!

Spitting up blood....probably advanced tuberculosis....so no 1800's era potion was going to save his Dad, so it was a sad journey all for naught. Just to drive the point home, the movie should have shown his Mom having just finished burying his Dad when he got back.

these "short westerns" have plots that are flimsier than high school projects... All strength and meaning in the film dissipate instantly when there is no rationale for the young trainee to become suddenly strong enough, just after a couple of robberies, to overpower his notorious outlaw partner, who had easily thrown him around like a rag doll in the beginning...

After he robbed the first bank with the guy, wouldn't that of been enough money to buy the medicine and the watch back?, rather than needlessly rob it and put his freedom in danger, seeing as he didn't wear a mask. Also, where is the payoff? the whole point was to save his father. Did he? Did the medicine work? So, so, so, so many short films set up stakes that never get paid off. Come on. Weak writing.
