Why use final reckoning before Avenging wrath? Isn't it important to gain the bonus dmg from avenging first?

@NinoMMO I'm pretty new to WoW, so I'm confused about this: How much does it matter to have the legendary axe as weapon? Like can I perform good enough without it? And how much damage difference does it make to have it? Have heard a few times that the legendary is essential to be able to perform well...

You defenitly need the axe to be able to perform good damage , because the class is balanced around the legendery , so if you dont have it you are essentialy playing a nerfed ret paladin

Hey, ideally you want the legendary, but if you don't have it buy Ashkandur with your bullions. It's gonna be less damage, yes, but generally you will do enough to do +10s and raid mythic :)

I know this guide is a little oldish but what is the best race, please? I see a lot of top ret pallys are blood elf but even more are gnome.

heya, the guide should still be up to date, until prepatch hits :) The "best" race depends on what content you're doing. For us mortals it shouldn't really matter too much. Out of the top 10 Ret Paladins in Mythic+ 7 are Dwarf, 2 are Bloodelves and one is Human. Most choose Dwarf because of the 10% Damage Reduction passive and the self cleanse, because you get a lot of value from it in M+ So I'd suggest Dwarf if you really wanna minmax, but I'm playing Bloodelf because of aesthetics haha

You're not forced to wait for it, but if you're at 3 and can fit in one more HP generator without overcapping use that first and then spend it. That's the main idea. Often you'll send it at 3, if there is nothing else to press tho :)

My 500 ilvl ret paladin is doing shit damage i dont know what im doing wrong, i do almlost the same aoe rotation like you did in the vid. But when i burst on the target dummies its only like 500-700 k

What is your weapon? This might be the issue. Other than that ret paladin is pretty straight forward and should achieve similar numbers. I had good gear though, because it was on the ptr with some 520+ pieces

Hey! :) We want a certain amount of haste for the spec to feel good. After that, the other stats take over. But as I said you always want to sim your character, to actually see what's best for your character. The Stat prio is just a very rough guideline in all of the guides that are out there. Simming is wayyyyyyyyy more accurate
