RG after their original Anbernic Retro Game Plus (RS-97) 2017-18 handheld release. That's my guess.

@@CellPhish I'm a very old gamer. It wasn't my first device but I remember it being a very influential handheld in the emulation scene at the time.

Great highlights video buddy, would love to see more gameplay too! Since the launch of RGB30 that 1by1 screen feels very tempting for a lot of people. IMO a person should consider before buying one if he really needs it because it has its specific uses it seems. In my case I prefer 3DS (and switch) on the SD due to the big screen so essentially I would use it for older stuff. So I would prefer lesser specs like the XX series with the H700 1by1 screen and lower price.. basically a reliable RGB30😅

That totally tracks. I think for the GB fan it’s the perfect screen not realized yet. But if you fit in that category the RGB20SX is a great option.

I'm really tempted on the rg cube, I'm just on the fence w the price. It's also coupled with anbernics bad habit of doing an improved version so quickly

I’m really liking it. It’s their first 1:1 so I would guess they will wait a bit and launch the 406m or something along those lines before they revisit it again

I have to completely agree about the usb c placement and power button. Just dumb design choices. Still minor gripes I cant wait to get one

Awesome Video. Don't you have a problem with accidentally pressing that power button at on the side when you hold it? That looks wrong to me it being on the side like that.

I definitely don't like the power button on the side, that said it is inset enough not to push it while gaming. Thank you for taking the time to watch my video

I cant decide between this and retroid pocket 4 pro. Any suggestions?

That’s a difficult choice. My RP4 Pro only moves for testing but if you want to play systems like PSP the aspect ratio is better on the RP4 with its 16:9 screen. The Cube is better for retro gaming in a lot of cases when it comes to resolution

I have extensively played PSP in the past(I was early on the PSP modding scene more than a decade ago) so my main focus for emulation is 3DS/DS, Gamecube, PS1, GBA/GBC, and SNES/N64. I also have a Steam Deck, so I want something a bit more portable and focused on emulation(I pretty much use my SD for PC gaming, although it's technically setup for emulation too).

This very much depends on what you want to play. For example there is no official Android support for Pico-8 so if you want to emulate it correctly you have to run it through something like Winlater

@@CellPhish I've not yet even really touched pico 8, had some interest in it but didn't know if it was something I'd actually like as I prefer jrpgs but as it turns out I've found myself on tetris almost all the time these days. I did want a way to play some 3ds titles aside from using my ayn odin 2 as the aspect ratio does feel a bit meh to use with ds games
