I know the factory Baja set up they used a 16 tooth drive sprocket it barely fit with some micro machining to the case with a mill . Anyway that would be great on the street

You can engine brake on a 2 stroke (if jetted correctly). Just dont do it at top rpm or when cruising downhill.

@4*2* 0 Not really the engine is still getting fuel/oil. Just not as much. And with a 2 stroke there is A LOT of oil residue in the cilinder and crankcase. But when the engine is jetted to lean there isnt as much oil left.

That’s a badass bike dude. I’m with you on the tank but what are you gonna do, it gets no mpg. And the Tusk gaskets aren’t that bad, no issues with me. The retro look is sweet maybe get some like gold wheels to match the plastics

Expensive but have you considered one of the "jetless" style carbs like a smartcarb or lectron? Might help clean up the mid and fouling plug issues. They do claim better fuel economy to. Edit: sorry just watched the end of the video and saw you mentioned a lectron. Love the builds eh, look forward to more

Fiveoh5 idling a two stroke just sits there and if the netting in the carb isn’t perfect, can “load up” the spark plug and cause fouling.

@@BM205 I don't speak freedom-units but my moped with an 86cc takes up to 0,5 litres/10km, was around 0,2l/10km with 50cc untuned so more than twice as much now. I'm building a Suzuki GP125 at the moment that I'm going to tune as much as I can, and I built a larger tank for it which holds almost 20l which is about twice the original tank.

I know no-one buys a 2-stroke for an economical run-about, but just curious what kinda of gas mileage you get on that beast? (I heard a story once of someone road registering a Honda CR500, and it supposedly only done about 11 British/UK MPG).

John Doe having a 6th gear like a KTM 300 XC-W helps enormously with RPMs on the street and a whole factor of things. Can also have a 5 speed with different teeth numbers that essentially do the same effect of lowering RPMs (ex. KDX250)

Jerod Hamilton I try not to engine brake as much as I can. Sometimes a little here and there is necessary in the situation. For the most part, I always pull in the clutch and coast.

@@bumpstartnether I am always in the market for a good KX500 supermoto. I don't know why but there is something about that single bore 500 two stroke that can't be replaced by any other engine. I love a big bore two stroke and prefer the KX over the CR.
