My grandma was obsessed with photographs. When she passed away this exact camera was the keepsake I took and still have to this day to remember her by. She had about 10 boxes full of nothing but Polaroid photos without frames. Her fridge had no blank spots ever. She held the family together. Photography was apart of making those memories special and gave us a way to reflect. This was state of the art in her day.

While I agree, it's kinda deceptive how they market it unless you really look into what their doing. The film isn't the same nor the "Polaroid" experience that once was. The newer project says 10-15min for full development, not shaking photos, and keeping them away from light.

The original Polaroid company didn't die, they just stopped making film and they sold their old factories and dismantled the machinery for making the film. Marques and team, this is one of my favourite videos that I've ever seen on KZbin in 15 years. This was delightful. I didn't expect you to get so hands-on with the tech, and I loved the photography and experimenting you did. I'm a massive fan of instant cameras, I own three and use them nearly every month. My bedroom wall is covered in Polaroids I've taken of friends, family, and people I knew for one night at a party. I think you've done a great job at capturing what was probably so compelling about this tech back when it was new. I know the series is Retro Tech, but probably my one criticism of this excellent video is that you didn't mention how prevalent instant photography still is. In fact it's not just had a slight resurgence recently, it's cheaper and easier to get into than it ever has been. It just isn't under the Polaroid brand name (but you can still call it that) - the film is called Fuji Instax, and there are tons of cameras by Fuji and third parties!
