the current Beats headphones sound great. Old Monster ones were good, but not great.

@@misanthrope8803 it does ? I always pictured things go south when someone else takes over.. I guess this could be an exception... I always relate "small things == crap sound" There is no way a bulky pair of expensive headphones for DJ's will ever sound crappier than a bunch of BT earbuds. That's WHY earbuds are cheaper..

Still have these non monster editions, only problem is the rubber headband padding fell off and i cant find it. other than that i didn't think they would last at all.
@metraforce441
@metraforce441 3 жыл бұрын
You can easily replace them but to actually use these headphones again is definitely the question... I have the Solo HD non monster versions and they sound meh... it’s not that great but to actually have them and the possibility of them being collectible is kinda cool either way. Maybe light usage is what they are for now.

@@metraforce441 I agree about the sound, they never sounded good and especially for the price, i have since found replacement padding, but they see no use since ive moved on to the likes of Sennheiser and hifiman.

The extra weight you mentioned comes from 2 useless pieces of metal in the headband. They knew that people would instantly think weight = quality build, so they've dumped some extra metal there. But weight doesn't have all that much to do with durability. For example the Sennheiser HD 599 are all plastic, light and comfortable, but that headband is nearly unbreakable.

wrong, that actually serves purpose i have my solo HD first gen and ive had some of the apple beats and the solo HD are still sounding lound and staying strong after 8 years im actually bumping some black sabbath as i write this comment
@Tech-geeky
@Tech-geeky 2 жыл бұрын
Well, anything you treat how its not meant to be treated will break.... Which is why manufactures always go for "durability" because they know people will wreck them, then they come back and say "We want something that lasts" Even a plastic bottle will serve you for moths if you look after it,. I had no problems with these Beats Solo, but unfortunately i sold them.. Now i'm looking to re-buy them again. I know i could get 'better' ones (define better ???), but i'd rather keep which what works.
@Leonhart_93
@Leonhart_93 2 жыл бұрын
@@Tech-geeky Better when it comes to headphones means sound quality and comfort. In my case sound quality means that it sounds very close to natural. Like a violin in the headphone sounds like a real violin (hint: it didn't for the first beats released). And the comfort perception depends for everyone, in my case I like those headphones where my whole ear fits into them without touching much, like with the Sennheiser HD 600. In public I just wear in-ear headphones, since they are the most comfortable when on the move.
