20:20 - Simon mentions the unusually long Sharpshooter here. The longest Sharpshooter ever was when Bret was disqualified at Summerslam 1993 after a 3-minute Sharpshooter to Jerry Lawler. At Wrestlemania 12, Bret had Shawn in the hold for the last 45 seconds of the Iron Man match. The Rock has the worst Sharpshooters, that put no pressure on the opponent at all haha

Left field idea: the 11th July 1994 episode of Monday Night Raw. Had a brilliant match between Bret Hart and the 123 Kid for the WWE Title, plus several segments that would be perfect for the Miller treatment. Even if it doesn’t get voted, Simon should still watch it, it’s less than an hour long but worth it for that Hart v Kid match alone

It's funny, everyone talks about Orton vs Foley, which I thought was good (though the visual of Randy absolutely COVERED in thumbtacks still creeps me out), The match I remember is the Triple Threat, I remember loving that match as a kid. Also, I just remember the build up package before it was SO good, the part where they recapped the Wrestlemania match just feels so epic.

About the main event: the spot where Michaels tapped out to the Sharpshooter WAS part of the symbolic apology to Bret Hart over the Montreal Screwjob. The fact that Michaels was kept locked in for over a minute, and had to sell the pain, I think that was deliberate. Not only did the event take place in Edmonton (a 3 hour-ish drive away from Calgary, where the Harts are based out of), a former Hart Dungeon alumni that won the match, and putting the one guy who benefitted the most in excruciating pain, all these was part of the long goal to make amends with Bret Hart. Bret himself would reciprocate the gesture by accepting the WWE Hall of Fame nomination in 2005, but it would not be till 2010 when Bret actually returned to WWE TV and finally put the events of the Montreal Screwjob behind him. Hart would finally make peace with Michaels, and while the match at WrestleMania that year was dreadful due to Hart's physical condition, the 12 chair shots delivered to the back of Mr McMahon was the definite closure to this book once and for all.
