I love both, i just wish the Masterverse figures chest was a little wider on He-Man and Skeletor, it doesn't effect the guys that wear armor.

Classics is better but the current secondary prices of Classics has made these untouchable for me. Masterverse figures are cool, cartoon aside. Origins is my main line to collect, though. I'm happy the new Barbarian Skeletor is going to have a MUCH better Skeletor head included. I'll be using that with the original Masterverse Skeletor release.

I can’t even believe the price of classics now, mine were all subscription figures via Matty collector over the years and boy was customs into the U.K. hit or miss, but always cheaper than local sellers. I’m keeping an eye on Masterverse but don’t think there could be any figure that would make me shell out rrp for them

I was never able to get the classics, due to the price that the sellers charge. Also, the designs of the figures were not much to my liking; but the accessories were very well done. I had some motu origins, but I preferred to sell them (I didn't like that retro design either), to get the masterverse. The sculptures, articulations, and design are much better, and more in line with what I always wanted from motu figures: more barbaric and imposing. It really is a great wave of figures.

Agreed Sir the Classics take the cake. I wasn't an original club member but about 2 years ago i grabbed a dozen or so on EBay mostly loose to display. Unfortunately main characters He-Man Man At Arms Sorceress were Ultra expensive so wasn't able to acquire. so Scare Glow and Stinkor Masterverse are nice alternatives to fill the gaps. I expect the line to taper off but definitely enjoying the ride while it lasts.

The masterverse line has better articulation and pinless. But the classics have the classic look which i prefer, as well as better proportions, include beefier upper bodies and bigger beads. But the masterverse line is getting better, and the 40th anniversary heman they revealed is the best heman ever in my opinion.

Dude, everything you deslike about masterverse is exactly what I like better of masterverse. the exact opposite lol. Like, why would you prefer a super short furry speedo over a cooler more barbarian loincloth? The heads too, a lot of people keep saying that masterverse's heads are too small when in reality they are way more anatomically correct than classics. In fact if u make a human out of the classics proportions, he would be a freak with a gigantic head, 3 times the size of a regular head. I guess we can agree to disagree and at the end we are all motu fans that counts. I enjoy your video. Keep the good work!

Body wise there's no way classics even compare to masterverse, paint they are even, package classics are way better, materials they are even with classics in the low ball. I think the best selling point for classics it's that they fit the classic look better

I was unaware of Classics when that was going on. Today I am very picky and have a no pin policy. I am a pretty decent customizer and have made Masterverse Battlecat way better. Love this line, I'm all in.

Mastervese take paint pretty well. I've also dyed some of them and their accessories. A very very fun and affordable line! I just got my 2nd Battle Cat who will become Panthor.

@@tydiriumhanger1320 As good as Battle Cat is, he's shelf warming here. I think they priced him too high, considering his obvious drawbacks. I had to modify Hemans skirt to sit properly on him. It's just not the best design, stirrups would've helped a lot. As would a smaller more flexible skirt. Not everyone is willing to take a razor knife to their toys. Making the playability a big issue imo.

Also funny think you mention small head syndrome on masterverse I think they anatomically better scaled, motuc have big head syndrome as a line and it's not worse nor better it's just a design choice that went through the entire line

I had to collect the classic line about 4 years ago. If you want the best you have to pay for the best. This line has a few winners though. Trapjaw doesn't look like one of them.

Love my Classics, but Masterverse is a pretty good line. I am using it to fill in the few key character gaps in my Classics collection. Just got Fisto and he looks great with my classics.

I feel the same way when Masterverse came out, I actually bought battle cat, He-Man, and Skelegod and end up returning them. Now I do believe the classic lineup is way better, with the classic if you were not collecting them back then you can forget about it today, the prices are ridiculous. The master verse have grown on me I have Fisto and Scare- glow so far. Eventually I’ll have them all.

I agree, some Masterverse figures can fit well as Classics Stand Ins, other can not. Also, check on MOTU Club GreySkull figures from Super 7. You can still get a Roboto, Stratos, and Fisto for a reasonable price.

I don’t think I can say I’m all in on masterverse but at their best when they make classic designs into figures, they one up the classics. New Eternia Beast Man for example. Teela 2.0 . She-Ra. Hordak. 40th anniversary He-man. Battle cat. Man at arms (hands down).

when Mattel announced the 40th anniversary He-Man, which looks brilliant, i thought “yep, they’re going to re-release classic style figures”. I hope i’m right. If Revelations does not get a second season then, Mattel may as well make classic style modern articulation figures.

Classics are in A League of Their Own and always will be. Classics shames every other Masters line - nothing will ever touch it. Unfortunately for people (very) late to the party though, they've gotten incredibly pricey. If I didn't have Classics, Masterverse New Eternia would be my second choice though, for aesthetic reasons. But of course they'll never have nearly the variety of figures.

Not counting price and availability, I prefer Classics. But Masterverse isn't bad for $20. Though I have a lot of issues with them. He Man looks washed out and bland. Skeletor looks goofy af. Stinkor's color scheme is terrible. I'm not a fan of any of the "updated" looks from the horrible (IMO) show. Small heads, etc... I do like Man at Arms, and Fisto is ok. And the hidden pins are nice. They do have potential for customizers. ...all things considered... *Origins* is my overall favorite.

Early Revelation figures were quite weak. Faker, Teela, Beast Man, Scare Glow, Skeletor and most of all He-Man. FF almost a year things look quite different now. Especially this New Eternia subline brought many highlights which keep up with Classics or even exceed them (e.g. Two Bad). Nowadays you can spice up Revelation Skeletor a lot by just giving him that exchange head of Barbarian Skeletor. Concerning Revelation Orko I have to disagree. I like him a lot - finally a dark/grown-up interpretation of that character. Classics and Masterverse - I love both of them. For Newbies Masterverse is the way to go. Thanks a lot for that comparison.

Imo Masterverse is more for the adult collector. Classics is more in tune with the old 1983 series. I grew up with 1983 series but moved on with the 2002 series and the Revelation/Revolution series.

Wouldn't say there are "no classic KOs" there just aren't many. At a minimum, the He-Man buck was KO'd as variants. I got the anti-eternia version and a bronze(?) version. Mike even mentioned his faker might be a KO around the 7:00 mark.

So since Mattel is losing the rights it seems we wont get Reissues. Theres a good channel on KZbin of a Mattel guy who worked on the classics line.

I recently bought fisto, whiplash, panthor, webstor, wikor, icer, beastman, slush head, grizzlor, leech. I prefer to pay more and have a good action figure. Motuc is much better in paint and plastic quality

I prefer Masterverse, but I paint them. Classics articulation and price suck! Classics definitely looks better if your desire is cartoon accuracy. As for the masterverse heads, some do suck but not that Skeletor. It needs a wash and dry brushing, then that headsculpt is incredible! It went from a head I hated to my favorite Skeletor head ever after painting.

You should make a few videos of your added paint details. I do some painting myself, I have these masterverse figs and Skeletor just looks comically goofy as is. I haven't painted any of mine yet, but I'm already planning on going all out fixing up Trap-Jaw when he comes out.

I missed the motu classic line when it first started, which is weird because I was only aware of modern gi joes being available, fast forward years later I got my he man from classics line in 2019 then skeletor, merman, stratos soon followed, but I really loved the looks of the Filmation club grayskull line, so I started going after them, first Filmation he man 2.0, then skeletor, fisto, she ra, clawfull, evil lynn, man e faces, prince adam, and most recently I finished up with Beast man and trap jaw out of the ones I wanted from the club grayskull line, the masterverse line is cool too but I only grabbed the top 5 or 6 that I thought looked good, man at arms fit in good with classics in a display but tri klops is a lil tall in comparison to everyone else, you have to hunch him over for him to not stand out so much, I still have scareglow, stinkor in package and a he man that I can't stand lol

I actually did pay $190 for Classics Fisto a few years ago. But if I didn't have Classics Fisto, I would not be trying to patch that hole with the Masterverse version. It wouldn't fit in my mind and it would just serve as a reminder of the hole I was patching. And then I lose money trying to sell Masterverse Fisto loose.

I have a near complete collection of the classics, that being said I have picked up some of the revelation figures, mainly the radically different versions of characters. I enjoy the Masterverse line but it doesn’t compare to classics IMO.

I got into Classics right near the start and bought EVERYTHING except a couple of convention variants from powercon. Masterverse I’ve been picking up select figures on DEEP DISCOUNT only.. Evil Lynn £11, He-man £12.99, Skeletor £12.99 & Moss Man £12.99 they are decent enough but lose a lot from the lack of paint applications in places. If pickup Man at Arms, Triclops and maybe spikor on deep discount again, no interest in Teela nor any of the new characters - flair is a no, orko is an abomination and have no interest in being woke and having a “diverse” collection for the sake of it.. I think the figures are fairly priced compared to other figures on the market, but they are too expensive for mass market tbh I liked the cartoon although having watched the 200x show nothing special. I think the CGI show will do better and the toy line with the kids, but again the paint on those figures is 🤮 if you don’t have access to classics then definitely there a lot of Masterverse that are good enough, but none of them are good enough to replace the classics versions (not necessarily the 1st release of classics but key characters had lots of variants and heads to swap out)

Here's the true decider on which figure is better. 20 bucks vs. 150 bucks. Is that classics figure 130 bucks better??? Probably not. I'd prefer a classic filmation look but Revelation is based on the new Animation so it's a trade off. Had they just made an affordable classics line in this scale, i'd be all in on that.

Classics are amazing but are expensive statues, they look awesome displayed but can break and chip easily. Masterverse IMO is also great and I know it will just get better and better as it releases more figures. I love the different versions of characters already and the articulation is what I always wanted for a MOTU line. Also they are priced very well.

Objectively , Classics is loads better. comparing prices isnt fair , between a line available in store now , and a collector line from years ago. Pure on sculpt alone ? Classics wins every time. The articulation argument? When u see 100 collectors ' shelves , every time , the figures stand in pretty mellow , if not A stances. so most articulation is not even used by most. If you don t own classics , masterverse is a second best option. But they do not get up to the Classics standards.
