Retrofit Headlight Install on my First Gen Tacoma

Here is a quick overview of how you install retrofit headlights on a first gen Tacoma. These were built from TEQ Customs and this exact headlight is now available on their website as a TRD Timmy Special edition!

@@trdtimmy I still haven't ordered mine yet I am relocating my rear shocks to the outside and doing King triple bypass on my 1st gen Sequoia. Then I got to upgrade to dual shocks and run King triple bypass behind my coil overs in the front. Also putting hydraulic the bump stops on the front and rear. And I got to upgrade my brakes. And I should be ready to order the TRD Timmy lights. I'm definitely getting them I just had other things I had to do first. I heard it was 7 to 8 weeks to get your order. I think that's what it says on their website.?

I'm actually looking into buying some for my first generation Sequoia that I just spent $43000 on a sick lift on. 3 and 3/4 inch left. 2.5 total chaos, long travel kit, king shocks. Thirty five inch nitto ridgegrapplers on17 in method beadlocks Front metal bumper, rear metal bumper rock sliders all coastal warn wench off-road. Front and rear Eton lockers. 4,88 gears. Front flared fiberglass fenders to compensate for the long travel. Anyway, I thought these lights would be a great addition to my build.

@@trdtimmy I got the two point five long travel total chaos And I forgot to mention my Method wheels are 3 inch negative offset. That's why I had to order the fiberglass flared fender. So it's almost 6" Wide on each side. You should do it, you will love driving long travel. That kit has about a 3 3/4 inch lift.

I think I will ask if they can give me the Tr d Timmy edition for my Sequoia. That's who I was going to get them from. I was just doing research now about it. That's how it led me to your video. Can't wait to see it.👍 I even have the same style front bumper with kc flex era 4 duel functions. I am upgrading my total chaos. Control arms with triple bypass kings and have dual shocks. And I'm going to relocate my rear shocks to the outside with triple bypass kings. People think I'm crazy. I'm going to dump another 20k or 30K into it soon.phase 2

I’m having some problems connecting the RGB halos via the Bluetooth on the phone to Magic Lantern app. It just don’t wanna talk to each other my device on the app it doesn’t read anything ……power is hooked up properly. I did test to check I got the halos hooked up to the parking light so when I turn on the parking light first click on the stock, it should power up the halos, but they don’t and The app doesn’t read the IPhone . I’m gonna need some help on this one.

The first time I tried plugging my new wires into the taps on the parking light wire the metal tab on the inside of the tap bent so it wasn’t going in the female section and no power was going to them. Check that to see if it’s the same case

Hey there. I have the same bumper on my '03. Is it possible to do the TEQ retrofit install without removing the bumber? Accessing the wiring for my winch is a real pain. Great video and info.

Yeah it’s possible just may risk scratching the headlight housings trying to slip the grille in between the hoops of the bumper

Where did you get your metal bumper? What is the make and model? Also, where did you get the lights for your bumper?

Bumper is from CBI offroad, unfortunately it is discontinued. The lights are LP6 from Baja Designs
