I don’t also think wifi 6 (or maybe even wifi 6E) would be all that beneficial for a streaming device. This device streams games a lot better than my iPhone, Apple TV and even my raspberry pi. So I think wifi 5 is more than good enough for this device

For the storage issue...if you format the SD card as "internal storage" you don't have the 4GB file limit anymore. And with that and my 256GB SD card I don't feel I will ever have space problems ^_^ And for D-PAD diagonals, maybe I'm lucky but it seems fine to me...at least in Street Fighter Alpha on GBC. The only problem that remains still today is the astronomic price for a new unit, especially here in Europe (339 euros on the official site when I bought it, and even on Amazon the least amount for a new unit was like 309 euros with the maximum discount till now). And personally, even if it is very comfortable I would like even more ergonomics and full size or nearly full size controls. Maybe I'm too used to the Galileo G8 now, but especially the sticks are not very precise even if you thinker with them in the settings and add caps. For the rest it's an amazing device! Light, comfy, doesn't get hot, battery lasts forever! Perfect for my use case: local streaming from my gaming laptop and PS5, and native light emulation (for more heavy emulation I can stream that from my PC too).

Tried one at a Best Buy, form factor was instantly one of the best for any handheld I've used. Controls all felt really good, and general build quality felt top notch. Those specs at that price though... and it hasn't gone down at all. $150 devices are surpassing its power, and why wouldn't you save an extra hundred for a Deck? It'd be a braindead move to grab this over Steam Deck. I've still not seen any significant price drops from any retailers, and it's ridiculous they'd expect you to spend so much on so little. Would've been a great device given proper specs and pricing- like a competitor to the Odin for those who prefer Android. I know it's not marketed as an emulation or native-game system, but it's idiotic of them to ignore the definite emulation community and high end Android players. Nobody will genuinely want this, it's just appealing for those of us who enjoy looking at different hardware. Not worth it.

So pleased to see you re-reviewed the device. I bought it 6 months after your initial video and always wondered about your take on it post-updates. Now I know. 😁 My one question remains on the FAT32 limitation. Yes, it's disappointing, but you can circumvent that limitation by formatting the SD card as internal storage. Now this makes transfers a lot slower as you've pointed out elsewhere and you can't move your SD out of the slot without re-formatting it. But if the only negative is the transfer speed, then that's a one-shot issue, right? Once it's on the SD card, it doesn't matter. It works like it always would, fast as it always would have been. I guess I'm wondering why that makes FAT32 such a big deal. Does everyone move the SD cards around a lot?

I own a G Cloud that I use specifically for GBA games. Smaller handhelds are tough to see for me, but the larger screen makes those games much more tolerable, and the ergonomics matter more to me than performance. Besides, if I want to play super demanding consoles like PS2, I don't think there's a single handheld out today that really fits my pick-up-and-play mentality with these older games. Also, they tend to be slower, longer games, not well suited for playing on the go, so better to play on a real console or PC and get a perfect experience, than use a handheld and get a hampered experience with the convenience of playing on-the-go, when generally, if I'm on-the-go, I'm probably too busy to game anyway. G cloud is nice middle ground for playing in bed or something, where the portability is less important, but the ergonomics and battery life make it very nice.

I still love mine. Been using it to its full potential. I emulate my favorite Castlevanias on it. I also like being able to play stream my PC to it while I sit on the couch. Its a small thing, but sometimes I just like to be able to have the experience as a handheld while sitting and "just being" with my wife in the same room while she crochets or reads a book. Its great for those little moments of "lets just enjoy being together doing our own thing" moments. If I want more emulation power, I have my PC for that. I don't like playing massive AAA games on the go anyway, so something easy like Celeste, or a metroidvania is all I really want or need. Thanks for all you do Russ! I wouldn't have gotten into emulation like I am now were it not for your fantastic videos.

To be fair, it's worth nothing that it's near impossible to find a decent large-screen Android tablet (i.e., for a telescoping controller). All of the devices on your chart have smaller screens. So if Moonlight is your main thing, the G Cloud could have more value than even the Odin 2 based on screen size alone. That said, the diagonals issue bothers me a lot and that is the real dealbreaker for me.

I literally just got an open box G Cloud from ebay yesterday. I'm not disappointed. The control on screen mapping is actually pretty good. Playing an android device with an attached controller makes it feel like an android gaming console, which is a feeling you definitely don't get from adding an accessory controller to your phone.

Absolutely 0 reason to buy this when the Steam Deck can do the exact same thing plus a lot more for a tiny bit more money

When I've been home, I've actually been using my G Cloud more than my Steam Deck lately. The emulation is easier as I just switch between apps. For Game Pass and Geforce Now, I get better quality and performance than I do on my Deck. Then I also have Android games on it, it's lighter, and the battery lasts much longer. That price is terrible though, I got it on sale for $299 and I had a $50 Best Buy gift card that I was given, getting it down to $250 out of pocket. I think that $199-$250 is definitely the sweet spot in pricing. As for travel though, I still prefer my Deck since WiFi will likely be iffy in a hotel.

@@dj4monie I just take my Razer Kishi and slap it on my phone if I travel without my Steam Deck. Then I can use unlimited 5G if the wifi sucks.

I got mine for $199 used and its great. The battery life is excellent. I will say it's been largely replaced by the ROG Ally but if your use case is just Moonlight/Local game streaming and emulation then its a really comfortable device that's great to use. The yellow under the joysticks is really ugly though.

can you not stream to the steam deck? The rog all z1 is as low as 400 non extreme. If it was 200-250 new that would be fair.

Great to see an updated look! I bought one earlier this year and absolutely love it, mostly for local streaming but some cloud stuff here and there. It's so damn comfortable and it's the only device I own that I don't get some sort of hand cramps after prolonged usage. Video Out update is so wonderful too!

Love these videos. After watching many of your reviews, i concluded on the logitech G cloud. My plan was to mostly use game pass as i am now but now after watching this video i have an itch to try the emulators. I tried following your Android starter guide but that guide is meant for mobile phone set up from what i concluded. Especially since the G does not support file format required for emulation. Wondering if you can build a guide that will support G cloud users in setting up emulation? Would be very helpful for me for sure! thank you

@@rndmcomment9482 Not only that this is a person who hasn't turned his phone sideways and try to play a game on it for a few hours. G Cloud solves many issues. It's people more like morons and who think it should emulate PS3 for the price. This plus a MiniForums Ryzen 7 PC and you can crush anything on the market. It won't play Cyberpunk at high detail but it will play it and you can stream it to the G Cloud.

In my country PS Portal costs for 400-450 $. So expensive . The device is not officially sold here and cannot be repaired. That's why I got the Logitech G Cloud. It costs 200-220 dollars here. And there will be more choice and opportunities for gaming. I would rather sacrifice dualsense vibration and resolution (if we talk about the official Ps Remove Play app), but I will have KZbin or emulator for PS1 and PS2.
