$300 is a perfectly OK price for a high quality Android tablet, which is what the G Cloud is. A premium tablet is going to run $700 or more. What you're getting, in addition to build quality and ergonomics, is long term software support. Everything works out of the box, and you won't have to scrape the internet for operating system upgrades, or worry about updates bricking the system.

Russ, just a quick note, you often mix up WiFi 5 vs WiFi 6, which are version numbers, calling it 5 GHz, which is the frequency of the signal. WiFi 6 still operates at 2.4 and 5 GHz, it just has some other enhancements over WiFi 5.

I don’t also think wifi 6 (or maybe even wifi 6E) would be all that beneficial for a streaming device. I own a G Cloud that I use specifically for GBA games. Smaller handhelds are tough to see for me, but the larger screen makes those games much more tolerable, and the ergonomics matter more to me than performance. Besides, if I want to play super demanding consoles like PS2, I don't think there's a single handheld out today that really fits my pick-up-and-play mentality with these older games. Also, they tend to be slower, longer games, not well suited for playing on the go, so better to play on a real console or PC and get a perfect experience, than use a handheld and get a hampered experience with the convenience of playing on-the-go, when generally, if I'm on-the-go, I'm probably too busy to game anyway. G cloud is nice middle ground for playing in bed or something, where the portability is less important, but the ergonomics and battery life make it very nice.

Ergonomics, battery life and its cloud gaming capabilities are unmatched. Remember, emulation was never advertised for this product so that is just a bonus. Pairing the Logitech G-Cloud with Geforce Now Ultimate leads to gaming performance that no handheld windows device can match. If you're a cloud gaming enthusiast like me, this is a must buy and worth it's price. I play my Logitech G-Cloud and Razer Edge 5G way more than my Steam Deck. So pleased to see you re-reviewed the device. I bought it 6 months after your initial video and always wondered about your take on it post-updates. Now I know. 😁 My one question remains on the FAT32 limitation. Yes, it's disappointing, but you can circumvent that limitation by formatting the SD card as internal storage. Now this makes transfers a lot slower as you've pointed out elsewhere and you can't move your SD out of the slot without re-formatting it. But if the only negative is the transfer speed, then that's a one-shot issue, right? Once it's on the SD card, it doesn't matter. It works like it always would, fast as it always would have been. I guess I'm wondering why that makes FAT32 such a big deal. Does everyone move the SD cards around a lot?

yeah, just ordered an Odin 2. it's my first ever handheld anything. I like the idea of this more than the Odin 2 because of the screen size and ergonomics, but it's soooo much less powerful and has just 25% of the storage! so if Logitech comes out with a new version that has a top-end chip I might jump at it...

Picked one up for 200 used like new with screen protector and case,, Love it for my use. The comfort and screen is top notch and would like to see Logi make a new one with better chip...

When I've been home, I've actually been using my G Cloud more than my Steam Deck lately. The emulation is easier as I just switch between apps. For Game Pass and Geforce Now, I get better quality and performance than I do on my Deck. Then I also have Android games on it, it's lighter, and the battery lasts much longer. That price is terrible though, I got it on sale for $299 and I had a $50 Best Buy gift card that I was given, getting it down to $250 out of pocket. I think that $199-$250 is definitely the sweet spot in pricing. As for travel though, I still prefer my Deck since WiFi will likely be iffy in a hotel.

@@dj4monie I just take my Razer Kishi and slap it on my phone if I travel without my Steam Deck. Then I can use unlimited 5G if the wifi sucks.

It was on sale for $300 CAD ($224 USD) in Canada and I picked one up and love it. I feel like the use case for this thing should really be much more targeted for streaming than emulation but the video really focuses mostly on emulation.

I got mine for $200 on ebay a couple on months back and it's still an amazing device, $200 is the sweet spot in my opinion, it goes for that and sometimes less on ebay.

Finally bought one tho it's wayyy to pricey. 200 would be ideal. Also, I've been cloud gaming on my rg556 and it's been really fun albeit small screen for modern games but perfect for retro gba games. Beautiful screen for sea of stars 😊. Great videos and reviews as always, thanks man!

I basically use this for Steam Link and I stream everything from there, including non steam apps like emulators. Works amazing for that.

Just picked one up after watching this video and seeing there’s an app that lets you remote play Xbox Series. Loving it so far and it remote plays great. Trying to figure out emulation and using your guides and it’s awesome.

I got one for $200 USD. I don't regret it at all. It's a very premium device and I love it. It's still overpriced, but if you can get it for under $250, it's fantastic. So good I've sold basically every other handheld I own except for it and the SDOled
@TheT3rr0rMask11 ай бұрын
Tried one at a Best Buy, form factor was instantly one of the best for any handheld I've used. Controls all felt really good, and general build quality felt top notch. Those specs at that price though... and it hasn't gone down at all. $150 devices are surpassing its power, and why wouldn't you save an extra hundred for a Deck? It'd be a braindead move to grab this over Steam Deck. I've still not seen any significant price drops from any retailers, and it's ridiculous they'd expect you to spend so much on so little. Would've been a great device given proper specs and pricing- like a competitor to the Odin for those who prefer Android. I know it's not marketed as an emulation or native-game system, but it's idiotic of them to ignore the definite emulation community and high end Android players. Nobody will genuinely want this, it's just appealing for those of us who enjoy looking at different hardware. Not worth it.

If this were 200 it were a no brainer. At the retail price, almost the cost of a steam deck, I don't see any chance in hell this is on my buy list.

Literally posted just a few weeks ago comment on previous video asking for a follow-up. Its great. I don't have logitech G cloud but while others might be struggling between steam deck and Rog Ally, I was struggling to choose between this and Rog Ally. I went with Ally for Versatility but in reality 95 percent of what I've used my Rog Ally I could have done via logitech G cloud using moonlight with my Gaming Rig. Which is the best of both worlds, Amazing performance with amazing battery life. But if I go travel, theres always a possibility that I wouldnt be able to use moonlight for some reason, with internet streaming theres always a chance you get in a situation where you need to do something on the Host PC before connecting or maybe you just left the host PC off. Something like that blows when you're on a business trip because most of my favorite games I like to play aren't emulation. Could mean going a long trip without them. In the end, I went Ally because I'd be able to play without internet. Even so, I still want this. I'd pay 200 for it if I didnt have the Ally now, but seeing as how fast the chip market has been, every device goes obsolete so fast. The prices bottom out so quick, you'd probably be able to start finding these drop to $100 on the used market. They have no choice because the used market is getting flooded with steam decks now. I'd probably pick it up then

199$ and we can talk. But I give them props for making sure the device is actually comfortable in hands, that should be NUMBER 1 priority of all these devices, but somehow they usually put that at last place :/ I don't care if a device can perform well if it makes my hands hurt lol

Good review! Yeah, the Logitech G Cloud doesn't seem too bad at all if you can snag it on sale. I've seen it on sale at various stores. I don't remember seeing a setup guide for the Logitech G Cloud on Retro Corps. I might have missed it, though. Though, I'm guessing you would set it up like any other Android device.

I don't know if you dit it already but it'd be interessting if you make an Excell file for all the handheld consoles with some specs and rating for different emulated systems.

I picked one up last year second-hand for $200 and I agree with you that should definitely be where it retails. But compared to other devices I've used like my own switch lite, or tried like my friends RP2, the Cloud is WAY more comfortable to game on. I still haven't gotten very far into retro gaming/emulation. I have been playing some Zelda OoT, but otherwise I've been happily playing Deadcells and Stardew Vally on the Cloud without need for much else. I've also streamed a few games to it from my PC like Ori and the blind forest pretty seamlessly/easily. I would like to try other games like Destiny 2 or No Mans Sky but either I am too used to keyboard and mouse or not setting up some of the function/menu buttons properly for some of those. Similarly with some emulation I've tried I feel like buttons aren't right or I'm forgetting which button is mapped to where. I probably just need to sit down with it more. Overall I love the device itself. Oh and also the video out; I do like that option now but I was having some scaling/resolution issues specifically with my Samsung Frame TV that I hooked it up to. I need to try again but the one time I tried it was displaying badly on the TV for some reason and I couldn't get it to correct. I think if I hook it straight up to a monitor it does fine though.

I admit I was a hater but when the price dropped to $225 refurb I took a chance almost 9 months ago. It is a very good handheld and probably the comfiest I've used. It's light, very ergonomic. Only downside is the dpad.
