Note: This is an anniversary edition pony, NOT an original G1. It's a new mass-released toy you can get online for about £12/$15. I considered using a vintage one, but I really wanted Linda to get a nice-smelling, new-looking pony as she lost her old one. Please let me know if you think this was the wrong choice. I might not do this type of mutation in the future if that's the case :)
@uorimoonАй бұрын
I think it was a wonderful choice. Choosing a newer model to make a OOAK instead of a rarer older one is always the right choice!
@samm4158Ай бұрын
i think it depends on the client and what the original pony was, but since Linda’s original pony was technically a “fakie”, you would be hard-pressed to find the original vintage body. so a brand new one seems perfect for this project!

You've done wonderful and the fact you went out your way to buy an anniversary one that was similar to the gen 1 style is very kind of you especially for the "nice smelling, new looking" part hehe. You did very good! Do what you feel and believe is right! You did great with this one!

oh my gosh!! she's finally here! 😭😭💚💚 honestly Yisela, thank you SO much for doing this for me. it's been so transformative and healing to have reached out with wanting to reclaim something lost in a sea of trauma, and to receive nothing but kindness in return. to turn the whole reclamation in a sense into something that has felt so positive and lovely, because you've been so so sweet throughout and such a lovley person to talk to these last couple of months! your pronounciation of her name is so good! and I'm SO touched you decided to give her the dandelion cutie mark, I shared that symbol with you without any kind of expectation that you would incorporate it, but that you did means more than I ever imagined because it really transforms her into not just ... a "replacement" I guess but something beyond it, something made with love and care for me. it really makes me feel so many things. thank you SO so so much for all you care with this and again for your kindness, I'm blown away by her and your cutie mark design came out so beautiful ;u; your childhood wish really touched me. thanks so much for sharing. I think I also wish for bravery right now. I'm sure grässtrå will give me plenty since you included the wishing version of the dandelion 💚 thank you so much again! @@cary9479 that's what happened to me too. it's a term I've always loved, because it reframes it from 'victim' or 'survivor' into something that is somehow ... just, pretty. it has all those meanings, but it's kinder, gentler, to be named for a flower I think. I'm glad you find meaning in it. I wish you the best on your healing 💚

The idea of "Dandelion Children" is so inspiring, it nearly brought me to tears! Not just the allegory of being able to keep going through anything, but the fact that Dandelions are more often than not, hated by most people for being "weeds", which is very relatable to me and my trauma. However, the people who hate dandelions are the people who don't see the beauty in the small things. They look at someone who dresses colorfully, or decorates/paints their house colorfully, anyone who stands out from the "sad beige", and they call it ugly. Meanwhile, the people who do appreciate beauty, especially children, LOVE dandelions, and they LOVE purple houses and "garish" decorations. The people who are educated, LOVE dandelions because they recognize how important they are for the environment. Dandelions are also incredibly useful, and edible! This allegory is PERFECT.

@@jj.1412 i know that both sides have the marks! Its just she mentioned that the knock off pony the woman had as a child had no cutiemark, and even in the artwork drawn of it, it was blank. thats why being having one side empty would be another nod to the original. Best of both worlds, yknow?

She’s beautiful! I loved and resonated with Linda’s story. And the saying about dandelion children is beautiful too. I recently learned that dandelions are symbolic of the three main celestial lights. When it is yellow and fluffy, it represents the sun. When it’s white and ready to make wishes, it represents the moon. And lastly, the little seeds represents the stars. They can also come in pink! It turned out so good. I think using a newer pony was the move, no reason to overcomplicate things. I relate to having a difficult childhood and losing many liked things. I would have things thrown away or destroyed as punishments until i eventually started just throwing my things away myself; something i honestly regret, but i know i can do nothing about. I bought some of my childhood ponies recently and they fill me with joy each time i see them. G3 star catcher and Desert Rose as the Crystal Princess, are my favorites. I wish i knew how to fix starcatchers wings. Great video!

I’ve been watching you for so long and you got me inspired to restore ponies since all of mine from my childhood are gone. I bought ponies, tools, hair, wings, glitter etc and then my health crashed. I have lost the use of my dominant hand, my eyes went bad and I developed other painful issues. I was so heartbroken. I got rid of most of the things I bought. I kept some hoping maybe one day, but the years are passing and I’m not getting better. This is why I watch you, I just wish you posted more lol 💜💜💜💜

Okay, this is kind of an ambitious idea but : What if you did all nine memberships of the fellowship in The Lord of the Rings? Again, I know that this is an ambitious thing, but wouldn't it be cute to have each member be customized into a pony? Like imagine a little Frodo and Sam ponies, imagine what a Gandalf pony would look like, imagine an Aragorn, a Legolas, a Gimli! Imagine doing Mary and Pippin! Like, you see the potential right? It would be a large undertaking but it would offer you so much creativity on your interpretations of them, and if you wanted you could do a little story time about your times with your friends while you customize, or even a q&A. Just some thoughts from a fellow geek ❤

Most of my old ponies are still in pretty good condition (I think I mentioned on a previous video I found them all in a box recently!) but I have one or two I wish I could send to be restored! Unfortunately, shipping overseas is so expensive, so I just have them safely hanging out not getting any more dirty. Unfortunately, it is my two fuzzy MLPs that are the grossest and would need restoring, and I recall the fuzz cannot generally be saved when restoring ponies. Fortunately my beloved Firefly pony is still in good shape!

Listening to the story provided with the pony hit home for me. I was very mistreated as a child and grew up in a disgusting environment that was abusive in many aspects including physical. My toys meant a lot to me as a kid, but I never realized that I was mourning them as this person mentioned. They were the only thing that seemed to make me happy as a child and I lost all of them when I moved out of that situation to live a better life. My move was a bit drastic, so I didn't have time to get all of my belongings like I wanted to. Unfortunately, this lead my mother to the spiteful choice of throwing ALL of my childhood belongings away, not just toys. It was like she just erased me from her life completely. I was never rude to my mother once when leaving, I was simply tired of her neglect and abuse. She did not see it this way though and still doesn't speak to me almost 8 years later. I collect toys that I once had now from thrift stores and also things that I wished to have as a child. I hope that one day there will be a special little girl for me to pass these toys down to. (:

My mom threw out my original MLP when I was a child too. I don't remember why, I'm sure there was a reason, she wasn't needlessly mean, I still have my original Rainbow Brite still and I'm 45! But I've always been a little sad about it, even as an adult. I had a folding stable too, though I no longer remember all the ponies now. I think Firefly and Glory at least, from what googling I've done to match my vague memories. Recently, I decided to buy a huge plushie of Firefly that I keep on my desk, my husband probably thinks I'm a little nuts, it came out of the blue for him I suppose. I have a Glory plushie on my wishlist too. One of these days!

Thanks for this. As always, the art is comforting and beautiful. I needed it. I’m trying to find work right now after a very hard year of being diagnosed with sone disabilities. It’s been hard to get someone to give me a chance. One place hired me full time in sales, but it was abusive and I had to just leave. The owner used derogatory language and they just berated you during training instead of helping you and encouraging you. I can’t take that toxicity right now and that shouldn’t be their additive in the first place. So I’m still searching. I need something fast and something that can be fulfilling and easy routine for me right now. Going to look at some Starbucks tomorrow. One is across the street. Something like this would be great and nice for me. Not too crazy a responsibility and good work I can be proud of. PS Are you watching the Rings of Power show? Love it so much!

I wish you the best of luck in this journey!
