Thank you! I'm using a 512GB micro SD card. I'll probably upgrade to a 1TB one in the future. I have maybe 100GB left on my card but I'm going through deleting games every now and then. I'd like to have more space so I don't need to worry.

It's amazing that a 2011 handheld is influencing modern design. I believe the Vita & PSP were the best handhelds ever made. Only if Sony could have supported their own device ... When I play both systems and toss um in my pocket, they just feel perfect all these years later. The RETROID 5 hits me in the nostalgia feels big time. It''s definitely on my must-have list .

18:23 you can skip the tutorial. go to settings and turn tutorial off, before choosing a chapter. (works in every tag force game)

Hi, really good video. I know i've already done this question before, but have you tried to charge the device just with the USB that comes with the RP5? How long does it take to charge? Or you use another charger or cable?

Thank you! Personally I always just use the same charger and cable for all my devices - one that is powerful enough to charge my most power-hungry device (my laptop). The RP5 says 'charging rapidly' when connected and it definitely doesn't charge as rapidly as some of my other devices but the charging speed is at least okay. I haven't had a real chance to test how long it takes yet but I'll try to find the time!

Hello, good job! I'm not far from placing an order! But, the RP5 allows bypass power supply? To protect the battery during on-TV sessions. The manufacturer says no, but I saw a screenshot that shows this option in the Android drop-down menu. Could you check if the RP5 does this?

" Charging separation basically means that the device is able to fully run using a charger after the battery is full if the device is plugged in. It can really increase the longevity of the battery over time if you play plugged in a lot. Without charging separation, the device will always run using the battery, even while it’s plugged in and at 100% charge "

I have ES-DE installed to the internal drive, but it's filled up quickly. Can I download additional media files to my external drive, without having to completely re-install?

You can but the issue with ES-DE is it doesn't currently support loading ROMs from 2 separate drives/places. That's one of the only real downsides to ES-DE. So you'd need to move all your games to an external SD card, but that's something I'd suggest anyway because it allows you to then easily transfer games between systems if you buy others or upgrade in the future. I believe some other launchers (Daijisho, Beacon) allow you to launch games from multiple folders so you might want to give those a try

@ All my roms ARE on an external sd card as you’ve recommended. In your video you also recommended installing the ES-DE app to the internal drive for snappier performance. The issue is - all of the media files are also saved there and have eaten up all the storage space. Can those media files be moved and set to a directory on the SD card for them to be stored too? On a side note, can you also share how to setup winaltor as an alternate choice for pc games in ES-DE? Thanks if you can help! :)

Doesn't cod mobile just work if you just use the xbox controller preset? Theres no need to map the buttons like that.

The only ones shipping now is the black and GC versions, the 16bit won’t get an update on shipping until the end of the month, and it just so happens that’s the one I ordered, I asked cause I never got an update and they told me about the end of the month thing for that version

As far as I'm aware Xenia is Windows-only. I really loved my Xbox and Xbox 360 but it seems like they're not able to be emulated on Android

@RyanRetro1 Or they can sacrifice some of the features, honestly to me performance is first thing when gaming, other features like screen, battery, storage is second, retroid pocket 5 is no doubt very affordable considering the price is cheaper than my used ROG 3 phone, but I think right now, AYN Odin 2 is still number 1 for powerful performance+affordable price. I hope Retroid Pocket 5 is not their last line of handheld nor they make a new one but less powerful because this device is affordable and good enough

It works for two emulators I'm using right now. I believe it works for 4 or 5 if you check the GitHub page for the drivers but I'm not using those particular emulators right now.

Btw a launcher I loved using on my GPD XD was ATV Launcher.. well the pro version anyway. Not sure if it has at all the ability to have emulated games shortcuts on the launcher but then if one wants a more console-ish launcher and isn't fond of ES-DE or Retroid's launcher, which I've not myself used ES-DE yet so no idea, ATV Launcher pro definitely is a good one.. which if you have an OG GPD Pocket and as such very likely prefer being on LegacyRom vs being on the AOSP 9 ROM since the thermals and sleep and battery is worlds apart on LegacyRom (android 4.4).. ATV Launcher works also on there.. well except that you will need an older APK.. and that goes with generally everything on such old android which just hasn't aged half as well as old iOS versions like iOS 8 for example which still use on my sibling's iPad 4 which only got recently prestine condition 128gb model to replace their 1st gen iPad mini.

29:40, Mobox inside Termux and using Termux-X11 (and InputBridge) I'd hope would be a leaps and bounds better experience compared to Winlator. Would be nice to see the analog and buttons being used to control the virtual touchpad, which'd be fab for visual novels. Granted, any Unity visual novels with videos don't work so well under wine. Wonder how wine under Armbian will be when that's released which should be better but the virtual touchpad is the big question and using the controls to navigate the touchpad like GPD Win handhelds often are like, switching between trackpad and controller mode

The beginning of the video shows the Xbox google play app but it was recently changed and you can't use the app for XCloud anymore. You have to use a web browser I believe. So I used the "better XCloud" app which is supposedly the best option.
