I highly recommend setting this up first before anything else as it'll create all the necessary folders for your roms on the sd card so do this first and then drop all your games in the folders it creates after. That should stop you running into any issues of games being in the wrong places later on

Thanks for the great video. The only reason I chose Daijisho over ESDE is that ESDE was not so easy for me to make scraping manually. As English is my second language, I would like to set game profiles in my mother tongue. (or some Japanese games in original language) Daijisho was easier for me on that. But ESDE is surely a great front end, and I would like to try again in future! This video will then help me even more!

You likely have already looked into this further but if you check out Russ's video (retro game corps) his setup guide shows an app ES Launcher or something like that. It will allow you to have the android apps, android games, and emulator apps each in their own category in ES-DE. So nice to be able to launch into ES-DE and still have access to everything you need right there.

Also in the dolphin App my roms will not show up and they say there aren't the correct file type. But if I go to the file and start it manually the games work. If you'd like to play the Secret Mysterious Console, I hear you need some additional files. If this is indeed the case, you could prepare them beforehand. Otherwise, think of it as a brand-new android device you can move into. Is there any software, a personal music or video collection you'd like to find when booting the retroid up for the first time? Favourite holiday photographs you would like to take with you? This would be the best of times to shovel those treasured files onto your sd card.

What is a good SD card speed to use? Is XC1 A2 V30 good?
@TheRealAlpha22 ай бұрын
If I recall correctly: XC1 suggests the card is of a certain size so maybe a 1gb or higher? A2 just means it supports a spec of memory management (this might help the card last longer) and V30 I think means it can read 30mb per second which is good enough to watch 1080p video (and maybe some 4k video depending on the bitrate.) That said, it's probably fine for retro gaming (you could probably get higher numbers though.) That's pretty much what I use in my steamdeck so it should be fine for this.

It works fine when I run it from the NetherSX2, however, when I try to play the games from ES-DE, it keeps telling me that the game file was not found. Do you have an idea what is the cause of this problem?

Did you let ES-DE create the game folders for you? Check that the games are in the 'ps2' folder. Also for ps1 games check they are in the 'psx' folder.
@mondherbouazizi4433Ай бұрын
@@RyanRetro1 You are absolutely right! The problem turned out to be about capitalization. I created the folder myself and called it "PS2" when in reality it should be "ps2" with small letters. All I did was rename the folder (I had to rename it to "ps22" then "ps2" because windows won't change the folder name if all you changed is capitalization. After that, I went to the app "NetherSX2" and cleared its cache and temporary files. I had the same issue with the Wii and Dolphin. Now I am facing an issue with the Dreamcast. Flycast doesn't recognize CHD files. But, I'll figure it out eventually. BTW, your channel is great, and I can't wait to see it grow to cover other systems in the future.
