If you enter a floor with the +1 boss reward item equipped, then switch to a different accessory and attune it at the campfire, you still get the +1 reward. The check happens when you first get to the floor

The ‘grants +x damage’ items add the damage to your weapon regardless if you already have it. It also adds it’s damage to the *base* weapon, so any increases also scale those items

Whats so weird about swagger existing the way it does is that there is another on tally trigger dash effects (and do body damage trigger) triats, but it has a tally of 8 and only works on melee weapons. So in most cases it's just plain worse because not only is the tally higher than swagger, crits interact with way more things than body damage do AND crits actually scale with your weapon damage which the trigger doesn't. At least change swagger to tally 8 and tempest kick to tally 5.

Quick solution for paper cuts is to put a thin layer of cyanoacrylate glue (aka superglue, CA glue) over it and let it cure. Once the glue cures the pain ends immediately. People use it for all sorts of small cuts and it's perfect. Make sure you have acetone on hand to dissolve the glue in case you make a mistake.

I absolutely love this game and I really hope that the developer watches these videos to figure out how to balance out certain aspects of the game. Dynamo and Swagger are just WAY overtuned for their versatility compared to the other perks!

To be fair, he also has to balance the game around people who like, get hit by things, and also by players who don't necessarily play with pure run variety in mind. Basing the balance of anything purely from the input of one of the best players of a game seems good on paper, but can often lead to an excess of difficulty/complexity or a misunderstanding of how the average person tackles a game. Or the opinions of a single person getting misrepresented as something EVERYBODY wants (people like meta progress! ... for some reason!). Also a lot of casual players see something broken and go "thank god I could still win this" rather than "oh, okay, cool, I win" ... and lose anyway because they're just not at that level of Skill, oftentimes. tl;dr: Balancing purely around the best of the best can lead to a game that's unfriendly to new players or satisfies a certain type of player rather than a wide diversity thereof

It is fine to have broken thigs in game like this, but only if it rare enough to be exciting. Otherwise it becomes old and boring very fast.

So this poison crit dagger on jester is my favorite build ever. Jester is after dash guarantee crushing crit. Poison dagger then puts 10, maxed out poisons on the target, then you add honeycombs, other poison cap increase, and the dot offhand and it just soars to infinity damage.

I think Combustion + Dynamo caused and overflow error with all the other "multiply proc damage"? 🤔

I think its dynamo reducing the cd of combustion to zero, making it able to proc itself if I had to guess. Given the ruby ring may add fire damage to combustion. Aka infinite loop

Loved this build! Reto, did you know there’s no cap on ninja clones? If you have swagger and a weapon that attacks 10 times/second you won’t just have an army of ninja. You’ll have a horde.

The problem with Swagger is that it does to many things, I would make it 2-3 perks. Also would you be willing to make a video (maybe after you have played all the classes?) talking about the different nodes and meta upgrades. This was typed before I finished the video so neat that we share similar thoughts on this.

I think the problem with Swagger is that it triggers on-dash effects which are kinda meant to have an external cooldown of your stamina recovery. Not to mention syncing that with Trigger Mania and Dynamo effectively removes that external CD. I really like the idea, but it should probably have its own internal cd of like 0.25 seconds or something.

Dynamo is the single best trait in the game, whether you take it first or last it usually always impacts something in your kit. Look at the way it interacts with the explosion from burn talent, those two with any burn effect would probably win the game with nothing else. 100% crit from your clones, all of your triggers are always doing 100% damage. There are sooo many tally and periodic effects that you’re pretty much guaranteed to get something, and dynamo breaks everything

Btw you can hit Give Up after killing the final boss to skip the throne room. Still counts as a win with all the Paragon XP etc.

Reminds me of the time when me and my mates were doing a destiny raid and while waiting I was removing sprues from models and sliced open the tips of my index and middle fingers. My keys were alternating between slippery and sticky as a layer of blood dried and more went on from it getting squeezed out or the seal breaking when I lifted my fingers. Fun raid though

The system that lets you bully the game into giving you either what you want, or things that form a surprise build that turns your crappy mishmash into a good run somehow, is a stroke of genius other roguelikes could learn from.

I was thinking back to the ones I've sunk so many hours into, like Binding of Isaac and Noita., where the biggest issue I had was as they added more and more items, cool synergies became harder to find. Individual items are neat, but synergistic builds are what -make- these combinatorial-explosion games for me. And this system is a great answer to the problem of balancing 'more pieces' with 'better builds'.

Great video: think that the reason the fire perk wasn't working yesterday was because it was a tally based off burn ticks and burning enemy death, and I think you didn't have a lick of fire damage on that run?

i think the endless explosions might be caused by dynamo also counting the distance the clones move, since it escalated instantly after yoz got Dynamo and it wouldn't make much sense why the tally counters should be increasing at this absurd of a rate

On a separate note, I 100% agree those traits are too strong when nearly every build can and will use it. Just knowing that there are things that strong ruins it as half the other perks effectively because either a waste of space, a trap, or straight up just a way to make the 1 good trait "rarer" in all 3 cases its bad design.

I think i got a ninja run with almost 40 ninja summons. It was swagger and testudo so I summoned 1 ninja every other attack. I also had 5.0 atk speed and 100% repeat so I summoned like 5 ninjas per second.

Yeah ninja with ranged weapon and swagger is kinda silly. The shadow clones add repeat chance which makes swagger triggers more often which adds more clones, and so on.
