Many thanks for this! Many happy memories and nice to see the "Red Rocket" streetcar and hear Dave Devall, the expert weatherman that wrote backwards/mirror image. Nobody else did this. In the 1990's I was once his mailman in Mississauga.

Good man, you kept the test pattern. I had completely forgotten about those little end of night chats too. That didn't sound like Dave Devall to some people? I wouldn't have needed him to say his name, sounded exactly like him. Oh yes, God Save the Queen!

I didn't know Dr. William H. Jones either. Not just Dave Devall. Since I don't get Canadian TV. You might say it's all brand new to you.

Re the "sermonette", I seem to remember it was moved, in the early 90s, to a commercial break in the first half hour of Canada AM (6:30-7:00) and scrapped entirely a few years later.

I do agree in a sense, Dave Devall on the sign-off sounded almost like Phil Tonken of WOR-TV/WWOR-TV in New York/Secaucus, NJ.
@JasonDelarosa20008 ай бұрын
Phil also introduced Nickelodeon to American cable subscribers in 1979.

_God Save the Queen_ is the Royal anthem of Canada whereas _O Canada_ is the National anthem of Canada.
