They have done a mobile gacha game of Dissidia and I loved playing it. They decided to make it a turn based game and honestly I consider it the best turn based RPG I’ve ever played. I’ll definitely miss it because it died this year. It ended service on the same day Rebirth came out. Really the best part was partially the cast but also just how many times they redesigned how you can play a turn based game. Because the final roster was somewhere around 130 characters they kept trying to make characters be different and made so many unique ideas that I just straight up want RPGs to start copying. Ideas like having FF2 Leon be a character that turns all enemy attacks into dark element and put a buff on your party that now absorbs dark element, or having FF6 Strago be using blue magic that will always break the enemy if their brave points is an even number and he has a double cast passive so he’s always doing his attacks two times in a row. The best part of the gacha was how over the top generous it was because you unlock every character by just playing the game. The gacha part was their weapons so you can use more of their kit. On a base level you can use some of their attacks for free but you had to pull weapons to use their craziest attacks. For them to be functional in a battle you didn’t need to get their strongest weapons. You just needed their second best weapons which had way better odds of appearing. So it really just did everything right and I’ll never regret a second I spent on it. I’ll miss Opera Omnia a lot. It’s my favorite Dissidia game and my favorite turn based RPG

I was absolutely obsessed with Dissidia back in the day, it's one of the few fighting games that I deeply connected with despite how complex some mechanics are and despite me only having played FFIX for any consequential amount of time then. I played both Dissidia and Dissidia 012. Cool thing about both is that you can send your unlocked characters and music and stuff from game 1 to game 2 without having to spend extra ingame currency for it, so that's kinda nice.

Fun fact: originally dissidia was supposed to be for KH but Disney didn’t want to see their characters doing any kinds of violent acts and fighting amongst themselves So, they scrapped that idea and used FF characters instead… as cool as that original concept would’ve been I absolutely love what we did get.

I was that guy! I parked it on this game forever.. When the sequel hit. It has a calander thing that counts how many days you logged in consequtively. I found out.. That it actually stops at 999 days.. I was so sure I could get to 1000 but it stopped! 999 days logged on in a row. But it was clearly over 1000. Dissida is incredible. The sequal is just everything in the first but better. Also, yay Terra love! Terra was my main in both games. She actually is what got me to play FF6. I wanted to main Zidane as a huge FF9 fan.. But Terra spoke to me.. It became clear who I must play..

I played Dissidia Final Fantasy & Duodecim 012 RELIGIOUSLY back in 2009~2012, so it will always hold a special place in my heart. Heck, I even made this channel specifically to share gameplay amongst the community. Unfortunately I did not jump on the NT train due to different region releases, as westerners did not get NT until much later compared to Japan. So the hype for me fizzled out but I did enjoy seeing new characters added onto the roster over the years where I wouldn't have not thought of before; Rinoa (FF8), Ramza (FFT), Locke (FF6) to name a few

I really enjoyed the combat in this game. Where you had your basic attacks that wouldnt actually damage your opponent’ but add up for your “cash out” attack (bravery attack I think it was called?) and it just looked freaking bad ass to see the final attack be this cinematic blow. I really wished the FF7 remake/rebirth had combat like that. Just imagine the Ability attacks being the bravery attack

Man this game I loved it as well as it sequel the PSP! I think I still have my save somewhere on a microSD card from years past. The fight mechanics here were so fluent and flashy in every fight. I would spend hours in the middle of the night just playing knowing I was losing hours of sleep at school just to get one more round in. I wish they did not completely shift directions with the PS4 release. So much of the game's heart I think was lost with that change of direction. If we go back to 012 Duodecium format and add all the final fantasy characters, it would be fantastic! This is a crowning achievement and I think a real love letter to fans of the series with how well it was done. I have found this game on emulations and booted it up in the past and I just got to relive all the childhood glory on my big screen. Definitely I can't miss game

Dissidia was my introduction to half the mainline Final Fantasy games. I just saw you could play as Sephiroth and Kefka and decided to try it out. It was a fun game, but my main takeaway was how cool characters like Garland, the Emperor, Cecil, Kain, Bartz, Exdeath, Zidane and Kuja are, while also making other characters like Squall, Vaan and Lightning way more likable than in their respective games. I was heavily anticipating NT before it came out, especially with that spectacular intro and kickass music, but the half-baked 3v3 combat and sparse amount of character interactions kinda sunk the game in my eyes.

Fire Emblem had its start IN THE WEST with the 7th game in the franchise, the very first one was out in Japan on the Famicom and we, very briefly, had an official translation of that first game released on the Switch which has since been delisted. Also, it's arguable if the west would've been interested in Fire Emblem at all had it not been for our collective curiosity of who these random strangers that we unlocked late in Smash Bros Melee; Marth and Roy, and what their origins were.

I think we must bring back the talks of a new Dissidia. We need a new Dissidia game with the same style as the PSP ones. Square can't treat the game the way they treated and think the game failed because we're not interested. The game failed, in my opinion, due to the lack of match options, connection, some new mechanics based on hit and run and not making 1v1 or 2v2 an option. I enjoyed the game but I couldn't queue up with my friend to play 5 rounds. And as people dropped because the connection was so bad, the queue was like 10 mins long so we could play 3 quick rounds. They removed the special attacks and those fancy animations with those ability boosting mini-games. We seriously need a new experience not focused on arcade but focused on we love the most about Dissidia. Hope they will do it again but better this time around

Please cover 012! It's a damn good sequel! When this originally came out, I was familiar with Final Fantasy (7 and 10 to be exact), and I actually thought similar to you about the gameplay for those games when I was younger. However, I gave this game a chance because they had a free demo for the original game (and a paid demo that gives you a bonus character for 012) . Needless to say, I loved the demos, and this game + 012 got me interested in crisis core, which all together is pretty much what got me into the series. Funny enough, it's also what led me to find out about versus xiii, and I was excited about for the same exact reason as you! So yeah, this and 012 hold a special place in my heart and are some of my favorite video games of all time.......NT, unfortunately, does not exist to me.....

They're cheap enough now and stupidly easy to hack. Don't have to worry about getting banned either since Sony shut the PSP servers down -can still login to PSN store though it's a chore to do so- and can nstall any number of games on an SD card.

I remember back in highscool when the PSP hacking scene was in a all time high, most of my companions played either Dissidia, Crisis Core, Monster Hunter "which i never got into it no matter how hard i try, it just doesn't click with me" or GTA Vice City & Liberty City Stories and for me the one that truly spoke to me was Dissidia. The thought of a Fighting Action RPG to me was a insane thing to see and with Final Fantasy characters no less it made me love it even more. Though out of the two "at the time" i've always prefered Dissidia Duodecim the most over the original because of the better improvements, faster gameplay, expanding roster and equipment ect thus leaving the original as obsolete by a lot.

I found your video randomly on my KZbin front page and I have to say, you sure did miss out BUT! Its better late than never to experience a gem like this! I played this game nonstop upon its release too and it was such a treat. I had to wait a little later in life to play Duodecim and it was everything teen!me wanted. NT personally didn't fulfill the spot for me I needed and I'm still suffering the loss of Dissidia Opera Omnia, which is imo, the best version/mesh of the Dissidia series so far. Live service potential would only go as well as there being interest and people continuously throwing money at the game. 😢 But i will say theres some heavy Dissidia fans, so i hope they try again. Its always a fun fact to know Dissidia was intended to be a Kingdom Hearts game, so I'm glad it provided such a great experience for you!

I played Dissidia NT and it was a great time with good characters. I was part of the hardcore community and the main flaws of the game were the Per to per connections instead of dedicated servers and the monetization of the characters. Locking the story behind unlock shards that you had to play online games to get was a bad move too. The game felt like a good evolution of the franchise and had fun offline modes too but the connection decisions were not good.

I LOVED Dissidia when those games came out. I legitimately had split between the two games 2 THOUSAND hours of game time. I had 100% both games and KEPT PLAYING because I just loved the games THAT much. Then I remember trying to get into pvp with people in Duodecim and found out that the game was essentially just 1. Pick a character that has some form of AoE DoT Set in Place damage effect to block melee advances 2. Spam ranged attacks till you win OR 1. Play Firion. 2. Profit.

I don't have a psp anymore, but I did download an app that emulates psp games. And the ONLY game I have on is the Original Dissidia. I've been grinding their specific weapons for months now. Playing it mostly because of nostalgia initially but I fell in love with the game the 2nd time around. Will try out 012 since I never got the chance to play that after I finished all the weapons. I read on one forum page that it lets you start with a Dissidia save file and some are credited to 012. Guess i'll find out soon. Great Video btw

The reason NT was so mehhhh was because they wanted it to be an EVO fighter so bad they stripped away all the mechanics and features that made its fanbase fall in love in the first place. Flashy graphics don't make up for a non-existant story you have to GRIND FOR TO UNLOCK, nearly all customization removed, and vastly inferior gameplay
