I've literally just changed my side bulb after seeing this...Halfords charge 9 euros to fit a bulb . So you saved me money... and that was a great tip about using WD40 on the rusty pins. Came out so easy afterwards. Thank you! You wonderful chap you!

Very helpful thank you ! I wasn't looking to fix any bulbs but just remove the headlamp assembly on driver's side to get a better look at a suspected leak in a pipe that's splashing fuel about. Near the EGR valve.

Excellent video. I had to change my O/S headlight unit as the plastic lens had "fogged" up and it was a borderline MOT failure. As a non-mechanic I completed the job in about 6 mins following this video 👍

So glad I found this video! Didn't know where to start with replacing a bulb on my Mondeo at first glance. Watched this video and new bulb was fitted and working in about 10 minutes. It's nice when someone who knows what they're doing goes to the trouble of passing that info on to help others. Thanks mate.

Nice new format for the tutorials, looking great. I was waiting for a new 2015 video from you so I could see if you forgot to change the Roman numbers at the end, but you did change them to 2015, nicely done :) I was in Halfords getting bulbs yesterday too, need to replace the headlight bulbs on a MK1 Focus, meant to bit a bit of a blag to do but we'll see. Have you got a Halfords trade card? Very useful, the 2 headlight bulbs were H7 55W and were £14.99, but with the card they were £8.50, not bad eh.
@retrorestore9 жыл бұрын
My Son in law has a discount card as he is in the RAF and he can get very good discount but that's a great discount you got there. This format is just for short tutorial vids so the other vids will be the same. Well spotted on the Roman numerals lol. Cheers Martin

I get trade at a small local motor factors, and at EuroCarParts. I will look in to getting a trade card at Halfords one day (they do have info on their site on how to obtain a card). It's surprising how much it can save you. You may even be able to get some places like ECP to deliver to you within a couple of hours. I had been buying certain bulbs in bulk, 10 or more at a time, from suppliers on eBay, which worked out quite cheap, but they're not necessarily the best quality.
@retrorestore9 жыл бұрын
mrman17 There's always a deal to be had if you are prepared to shop. Most people who pay Halfords retail price are not really in the trade me thinks.
@mrman179 жыл бұрын
No, Halfords are mainly geared towards the end user. However, I still sometimes use them for the occasional tool (some of their tools are not bad), cleaning stuff, or if I need something at 7pm or on a Sunday, when other places are closed. So while they're not usually my first choice, it can be handy.
@cwuzii9 жыл бұрын
mrman17 I only think Halfords is worth using if the trade card can be used, it covers tools too btw, which is nice. The card only took 2 minutes to get when I went in, worth doing if you can :) How do you obtain the Euro Cap Parts trade card? I'm guessing it's not as easy to get as Halfords' one is.

A new Intro! Nice. Easy 5 minute job. I wish working on cars was that easy on every job. So, why is it bulbs always blow in January when it is -10c. Frozen fingers, and Martin, no coat? it is January ya know, not May. Wheres Barney, and Gary should be standing behind you with a beer. Keep on keeping on... Brian

This is actually a good idea by Ford (for a change ;) ). Makes life a lot easier. A friend had an older Renault Megane and to change any of the bulbs on the front, you had to jack it up, remove the wheel and get at the back of the light cluster through a small access hole in the plastic covering, even then, you can't see what you're doing and it's done by feel. A complete pain to do.
@retrorestore9 жыл бұрын
Yes, I thought this was a good idea as well Mrman. Makes a change for something on a modern car to be simple. Cheers Martin

I don't think you had this exact model over there Shawn. The nearest was the Ford Contour that went up to 2000 in production. In Tiawan it was called the Ford Metrostar. Cheers Martin

Great video. Cheers mate. Have you got one for the rear light clusters at all on the same car?
@mrdoofa93576 жыл бұрын
Tom Bagley The rear lights are very easy, remove 2 half turn plastic bolts on each side to remove the trim then you’ll see the plastic assembly that holds the rear lights. Squeeze the 2 red tabs and pull the assembly out, you then have easy access to the bulbs. Once done reassembly is the reverse of the disassembly!!! Happy days!!!
@mrdoofa93576 жыл бұрын
Why can’t all car bulbs be this simple to replace? Some cars need wheels removing, bumpers removing, engine parts removing. Great idea by Ford.

I come from a race car background as a hobby I race and build my own autograss car, I am only 14 so my dad contributes by providing some help. I have thought about starting to make money but I'm too young for a job I wanted to start restoring lawnmowers like you do could you give me some advice on how to get started, where to find lawnmowers, parts and paint. I hope to receive some feedback many thanks, Jake!
@retrorestore9 жыл бұрын
Hi Jake, put an advert on gumtree, preloved and facebook saying" old petrol lawnmowers wanted non runners. Cash waiting" and also check out facebook groups for items for sale around where you live. Check my lawnmower vids for tips and tricks and give it a go. there will be plenty of mowers out there that won't start before the growing season starts. I prefer Briggs and Stratton powered mowers. cheers martin
