Get some fine wet and dry or ambrat cloth .that crank will polish out its only ally stuck to it making the ridges.and put a new set of shells in it

Polish the crank journals measure them to check if they are in tolerance, then fit new big end shells also check con rods for ovality where the big end shells fit.

I'd do and have done what others have suggested, bit of fine wet and dry on the crank carefully and a new set of shells, takes a fair bit to kill a crank generally. Did that on my old Regal and that knocked like a trouper, was fine afterwards 🙂 I presume you've got the same shells on the same ends and not mixed them up, I did that with my mains by mistake and caused it to lock up.

You'll have no problem getting a crank and bearings as Reliant Spares will have them. It's probably pricey but at least you'll get a warranty and stay original.

Hi. Amazing vids. Do you have a vid on how to get that yellow look on restored car parts. Can’t remember the exact name of the colour. You often see it on the fan blade of an alternator.

I know lee lockwood another KZbinr removed a reliant engine a few months ago to fit a motorbike engine not sure if that ones available at KZbinr friends rates 😂
