What an amazing movie! I can't believe I have lived for 60 years and have never seen this. Close to 100 years old and it feels like I am right there with all these actors it seems so real it's unbelievable. I really needed this movie and God brought it to me at just the right time. When I was a young girl in the 1970s, I would make sure I woke up early during the summer months just so I could be up in time to watch the old black-and-white movies that came on TV. I was only a skinny, freckle-face girl, but my incurablly romantic heart matured early. I fell head-over-heels in love with Jimmy Stewart. I knew he was just playing characters, but I was (am) convinced that the endearing qualities that invariably appeared in every one of those characters were the characteristics of Stewart that could not hide from the camera.

There were 2 men that my mother and I "loved.' and they were Johnny Weissmuller and Jimmy Stewart. SHE was born in 1914 and I was born in 1951. ( There were many Saturday afternoon movies when I was a kid/teenager. )

I have Never seen this great movie that I can remember. Jimmy Stewart's character is complex. He is tough , strong one minute and innocent and shy the next. Confidence Of his future one minute and scared falling in love, of the war being separated the next. HER character played sweet and innocent and when they did the close-ups of her face she looked angelic❤ wonderful movie BRAVO !

What a wonderful movie, and what great performances by Jimmy Stewart and Simone Simon. I wonder what kind of impact this had on audiences on the verge of WWII. For Jimmy Stewart to convince me that he's a rough sewer cleaner is quite a feat. But it's not at all hard to believe he's in love with Deane. And every time I watch it, I'm more impressed with the cinematography. That scene where Chico runs up the spiral staircase, and the camera rises and spins right along with him is AMAZING...
