My dad was an accountant, but he loved this kind of music (much to some people’s surprise). When my sister and I were young, he would take us for drives in his 20 year old Porsche 911, with this song playing at the maximum volume. Such great memories. He unexpectedly passed away on June 3rd, 2022 at age 57. We requested this song to be played at his funeral, but my family forgot we requested it! So when it started playing, everyone instantly burst out into happy laughs and smiles from memories of a bygone era. RIP Dad.

My mum's favourite too, she died in her mid 60s. But if I think of her - this song sums her up - she was fearless! Reckon if she hadn't had children young she'd be back on the road!! Respect to your dad.

I ended up listening to this song to remind myself that, if my mom said I was ((wild)) I would have any fear at the moment she was gone! And here I am!!! Sorry for your loss and be sure your father is there with you whenever you play this. Some of us know how it feels but...let's keep it wild!!! Hugs!!!

In 1979 me and a mate went on my CB200 to Bordon cinema (England) to see Easy Rider, we were 17, it rained all the way there. As we sat in soggy belstaff waterproofs I swore that one day I'd ride across America. Some 40 years later my wife lay ctitically ill in hospital, it was touch and go, she recovered. After that I jacked my job in, we packed our bags and headed off to California to fulfill that dream, I had never let it go. We took 5 weeks, through the rockies, across the plains, down the Missisippi to Nashville, Alabama and up to Washington DC. It was maybe the best 5 weeks of my life, drifting through the USA on a motorcycle, this soundtrack going through my mind. It rained in America too, even in the Nevada desert in August!

Such a good song. It reminds me of this one time I was playing with my old bar band. We were on stage dying a slow death, when a motorcycle came in through the back door. A waitress spun like a top b/c of how fast the bike went past her. Our eyes met and she winked at me, as our band started playing Born to Be Wild. We had never played it before, that's the wildest part. Good times.

I saw this movie in 1969 in a theater. My God! The ending shook me to my soul. It was a great movie and a must-see. My boyfriend owned a bike and we rode it everywhere. I was just a young thing back then and I loved him more than anyone else in my life. I'm 76 now and he would be a tad older. Are still alive, Steve? Thanks for the memories. Remember Brighton Dam? Of course, times changes, generations changes, life style changes...but, 60-70-80' s music never dies, many of them already have been classics, even the youngest generations listening and doing new versions, just as exemple, who listening again and again Madonna, she passed, her music passed as many others, but our generations music seems as will live forever.

when I first discovered Easy Rider, a masterpiece of fine art, the first thing the song and the movie taught me as a third-world teenager was how important it is to be born to be wild. All my rebellion rooted in the dialogue between Fonda and Nicholson in which Hopper is not always interested. The songs, too, inspired generation, some of us arabs, amazighs, sahraouis, in short, Moroccans : we just love American genius ! Greetings to USA.

TheBonScott33 Glad to hear it.. exactly what I did following a bad one many years ago that wasn't my fault.... It got me through the bad times.. I actually asked my family to bring in the then video I had of the film when I was allowed up off the spinal bed and I would go to the day room that had a tv and video player.. back in late 90's.. I ended up doing the advanced bike test to get my confidence back when I self discharged.... Hope it all works out for you.. I was in the NSIC at Stoke Mandeville, five months following NHS negligence after the accident.... told I would never walk again but ignored that and can stand and move now just limited mobility and heaps of pain, I still ride.. Once it's in the blood to ride it's usually there for life... All the best for a 100% recovery. Keep your sense of humour I was told and it worked.. good advise I am happy to pass on to a fellow fallen rider.
