Without Ms. Pac-Man, Jr. Pac-Man, and Baby Pac-Man, the Pac-Man franchise will never be the same, but for some reason in the archives version of Pac-Land, at least Pac-Mom's face isn't ugly compared to her 3d model.

I have the PS1 Namco Museum 4 version (The Japanese one since it's cheaper), thankfully Ms. Pac-Man is in the game, and not that generic replacement, Pac-Mom.

Their designs were changed to match their appearances in the Hanna-Barbera cartoon. That's also why a cat and dog were added - they were in the show, too

That's due to the time it was released, early in the Famicom's lifespan, before better memory mapper chips came to be. Look at early FC/NES games, versus games from 1988 onward to the end of the console's lifespan.
