Hi, may I enquire for example C of 1,2 disconnection approach. Is it possible for me to form an epoxide whereby the PhS- will do a ring opening?

i have a question about synthesis A. the NaH is here to deprotonate the compound so we get O- (nu) which gonna attack the epoxide right. the epoxide will open up, but with O- dont we need an acide here to get the alcohol ? (can we also do it without the need for Nah ???) greetings from Germany :)

Clayden and Warren's Organic Chemistry textbook (2nd ed.) has a nice chapter on this. The best book overall I think is Warren and Wyatt's "The Disconnection Approach." Thanks for watching!
