I find the 8 gen Elite useless. I have the redmagic 9 pro as well as the Nova tab Redmagic, and I haven't found any game that puts the processor's capabilities to sweat. On the other hand, the heat is poorly managed. There are already heating issues with gen 3, so with gen X I don't even dare to imagine.

My GOAT, RTD. I've been messing around with an 8 elite phone as my daily driver. The 8 gen 2 and 3 are fairly overkill for current android gaming, so I knew this would just be even more so. It's crazy how efficient these chips are and I hope we get native android stuff that can make full use of them soon.

Apple's partnership with Capcom showed that flagship SoCs today can very well run PS4 generation AAA games no problem. I mean hell, Winlator showed that even with the massive emulation overhead and performance penalty, it can still run Fallout 4 at over 60 fps, and that was a PS4 game. If it gets special care, smartphones can absolutely run some really crazy looking games now.

My red magic 9 is incredible, I couldn't believe the wide range of console games I've been able to play at high performance like Mario oddyseey at 70 fps to enable me to beat the game in 3 days. Also portable around 650 it was an unbelievable deal . I highly recommend these they got me back into gaming after years of hiatus. This is an excellent review your one of the best doing real emulation gaming tests I can relate to. Also can you test cyberpunk and modern PC games on winlator ?

It really is between the s25 ultra and redmagic 10 pro for me. The price, battery life and charge speed might win me over. Redmagic has also done what i have always said. Its get rid of the camera bump and get a bigger battery. I would miss the s pen though its nice when i occasionally use it but i game way more often then i use the pen or take pictures.

I went from S23U to 9s Pro and won't look back, the battery life and charging speed too hard for me to ignore. Don't care about FF camera, and rear cam is very meh, but I have a full blown camera to use if I felt it was vital in any case.

Thumps up from me for indicating early in the video that the phone doesn't have a microSD slot. They removed the removable battery and now we don't see any expandable storage on high end phones anymore. For $1,000+ phone with no SDslot is a big F@#$% you to the consumers (IMO).

I would much rather see SD slot vs a dual sim, but thankfully, it doesn't affect me. I can only handle a handful of games at a time if I wanna actually make any progress. 256 is enough for me, and 512 is plenty. If I wanna change games, I have a 4tb ssd on my keychain.

@SethRoganSeth its not a "must." it's a want imo. I don't need it, as I stated. It makes no sense to me, too, have a thousand games and only play and keep track of a few at a time. I just don't get auto rejecting so many devices based on that alone. If i wanna play a game on a device i put in on from the ssd. The minute or 2 of gaming i lose will not be missed. Do I wish all devices had it? Yes. I just don't get the automatic rejection, but if it's not for you, it's not that's the wonderful thing about options.

@SethRoganSeth redmagic is a normal phone. It has a fan and a bigger battery and the triggers, but i will use a controller, but that's about it. I ended up getting the tablet they made, and i liked the game space a lot. Im getting the 10 pro 512gb in moonlight. I have had samsung since the s4, and I want something different. The moonlight color and bigger battery got me. I also don't see how what I said could make you think the redmagic is a phone that should not be bought by what might be a more casual gamer. The phones should not be a gatekeeping thing of being "only for x people." Your suggestion baffles me.

68% stability is terrible, but also normal for phones. A gaming laptop thats "thin and light" with terrible cooling can still easily get 90% stability while a good cooling system I've tested hit 99.6%. Until they stop trying to be as thin as iphones nothing will change.

It's sad that there isn't expandable storage, but the prices are pretty good compared to what was released earlier in the year. $999 for the top of the line, is cheaper than what Google and Samsung had offered for their top of the line flagships. This was a great review. I have a question and a suggestion: The question involves carrier compatibility. Does this work on Verizon here in the US? Previous RedMagics wouldn't activate on Verizon because they didn't have all of the bands Big Red uses. You could SIM swap in from a different phone and get okay service in a city. If it doesn't work on Verizon, what carriers does it work on? The suggestion is about Winlator. ETA Prime had pretty good luck on the 8 Elite testing a version called, IIRC, Winlator Alpha. I don't know where to get it. I also don't know if it's an early build of regular Winlator or a fork like Frost. All I know is that he claims it exists.

It really depends on your needs. The S25 Ultra will most likely have a superior camera and things like water-proofing. The RM10 Pro is going to be the best value and gaming focused.
