One of the best episodes so far! Really loved this one, however I do miss the days when it was a true 1v1 on the bosses (I really enjoyed seeing Rory learn and always pull through in the end 💪) specially in this game where iirc you don't need to summon any NPCs to advance their quest like in DS2. I will obviously love every episode however you do it but I think a 0 summon 0 spirit policy for bosses would make the bosses more memorable for you guys and everyone watching :) Thanks for another great episode and keep up the great work
@puupipo Жыл бұрын
0 summon 0 spirit policy for certain late game bosses (especially Malenia and the Godskin duo) would be harsh and, in my opinion, kind of antitethical to the playstyle that those bosses were designed for, and there's also Radahn which is so much more of a spectacle with summons that it's totally worth doing (again, just my opinion). But yeah in general I would like to see more of Rory fighting big story bosses, and often with weaker bosses summoning trivializes the fight so that it's over in a couple of tries at most. Luckily this is a huge game and there's plenty of time for those more drawn out boss fights to occur.
@puupipo Жыл бұрын
@gremvy9854 I've played all Soulsborne games and Sekiro and Malenia is the only boss I haven't soloed (at least not yet). I gave it an honest try but pretty quickly came to the conclusion that I don't have it in me to go through the painful process to learn how to dodge and counter her moves, mainly the Waterfowl Dance of course. The time that it would've taken just didn't feel worth it to me. You could absolutely be right that Malenia feels great to solo, but it's the journey to get to that point that's the problem. Maybe I'll have time for it someday, but I doubt RKG have with their filming schedule.
@JackSage Жыл бұрын
@@puupipo I do agree that they should summon for Radahn, but Malenia is truly such a great fight if you master her Solo. I mean personally I'm fine with a "Malenia (Part 3)" episode 🤣. For me, episodes like Laurance, Nameless King, Prince Lothric, etc... where the best. I do know that it's my personal opinion and I'm a bit on the extreme side here and most people are 99% here for these 3 great guys. I found them just after they uploaded the 2nd ever episode of the orginal PTT and have watched EVERYTHING (even stuff like SOTC and RE). I'm just a bit of a Hardcore Soulsborne fan and combining the joy of watching someone learn and overcome the bosses solo + my favourite youtubers is the best possible thing I could ask to watch :)

Hey guys, loving the series so far. Not trying to be negative, and I have no idea how far in advance you guys are filming but meh, I'm personally hoping the whole game isn't going to be a 3v1 tho. Obviously not looking for another Lawrence or anything like that, but trouncing every boss in a few tries/10mins after spending 3 hours in the Legacy dungeon isn't as PTT or Retry-y as you guys normally do it. Kind of supremely anti climatic. Just imagining using mimic later on as well. And tbh it's not even like the DS2 character quests where they need to be summoned to initiate the next quest portion, or Seigward's integral entrance cutscene. The leveling up isn't why he's going to become "OP", it's the bosses being distracted by the 2 other allies in the room. Rather see the whole kitchen sink thrown at a boss with every build style in one (dragon breath, jump tactics with a collosal sword, and finish a boss off with a spinning Darth Maul) than watch Nephelli draw agro on cool attacks. Anyway, keep it up. Not trying to be rude or a backseater. Just my worthless 2 cents. Hope you're enjoying.

All the guys have always been absolutely top notch with the gameplay and banter, but one of the things that’s really drawn me to RKG has always been the respect they show for the games they play, and the commitment to doing a game justice if they’re going to play it. Front and center in that pursuit is Krupa, and his lore knowledge and understanding of the branching paths these games will take them on depending on what they do shows how much research he’s put into these episodes, as well as how much he’s played and enjoyed the games firsthand. I feel like we’re really watching him absolutely master the format with Elden Ring, and it’s resulting in some of the best content these guys have ever made. There’s always a sense of trajectory and storytelling, but never a sense that Rory is being guided on a path, and it just makes the episodes both epic in their storytelling, as well as hilarious and off the cuff, as a group of friends playing a video game should be. Super well done to the whole squad for being amazing at what y’all do, and I guess just a little extra shoutout to Dan for his hard work, ingenuity, and sense of drama (oh, and also for being no less hilarious for all that!). Here’s to the Loremaster, and to the fools!
@puupipo Жыл бұрын
Good comment! I've noticed it too, the Loremaster has been so on point in this series that it stands out to someone who has watched all of PTT and Retry to date. Pointing out little easy-to-miss details like Rogier's bloodstain, explaining bits of lore that are relevant to an area without giving too much away, making sure Rory doesn't miss important areas or items without directing him too much, hinting at hidden game mechanics like Gostock's rune stealing... I'm sure it takes a lot of work and thinking and planning behind the scenes, and I just want to say that I see it and appreciate it!
Loving the series and already commented loving the episode but I think summoning and NPC first attempt is taking something from the finale. There was no learning the patterns of Godrick. Letting summon and Jelly take all the heat seems against the theme. You're purposefully saying not to level up and the challenge against crucible was great but the final fight just felt a bit flat due to double summons. Still bants and I know they're already recorded but just my opinion

Slugs, I'm loving it so far, but maybe give Rory a couple of tries on the boss by himself before using NPC summons? The story summons are really cool and I'm not against you using them, but at the same time it's kind of sad to see important story bosses like Margit and Godrick go down this quickly. I don't mean to tell you how you should or shouldn't play, and I'll enjoy the episodes either way, but I'd love to see a bit more of the boss fights personally.

Also after a second watch, I do hope we can put a halt on summoning in general, both NPCs and the spirit summons unless they're really needed (maybe a certain amount of attempts, 3-5 or so of solo tries before Powers can summon) because they really do take away the novelty of facing a new boss for the first time and learning their attacks and patterns under fire. Godrick, Leonine Misbegotten and even Margit could've made for more challenging fights without the summons pulling aggro.

I definitely agree that the series will be much better if they quit summoning, spirit summons basically ruined the endgame for me my first time through. I wonder if that episode of roundtable hold might have been filmed after? It could be that they got a bit ahead in the game and recorded round table hold a bit later. Like @haydeng3541 said, I think that RTH was filmed sometime after this episode. Been doing some "detective work" looking at the boys clothing for the last few episodes which dont match with what we see in the last few episodes. That said, I do not mind the summons, although what I do miss from the boss fights is seeing Rory learn movesets and how the boss actually works. Elden Ring got some amazing bosses and I hope we get to see Rory tackle some more of them on his own, at least the main story bosses. For the repeat bosses in optional dungeons I feel he should summon as much as he want. Regardless, I've been loving the series and that crucible knight moment was some of the loudest I've laughed ❤

Cracks me up, "I need my jewels" immediately goes off in the opposite direction. You were in on that too Daniel, led him off a cliff. Never change guys, 👍
