I really appreciate the fact that you understood what Haida was trying to do when he went and got to Retsuko. Some of the other reviews I've seen painted Haida as an obsessive creep who can't get over a girl who turned him down, which it's not. Haida is just a nice guy who cares about his friends including the same the girl who rejected his feelings. He really does care.
@anders84614 жыл бұрын
Really? Haida is not a creepy stalker. He genuinely care about retsy, as a friend and his love interest.
@anders84614 жыл бұрын
@Adrian Nelson you do forget this is for dramatic effect, right? Chasing your crush to the edge of the world only to be rejected or to just to win her back. Typical asian drama right there XD
@hunterriley49934 жыл бұрын
I get both of y'alls points but let's just be happy he's a friendly stalker l suppose lol, I understand he is a bit social awkward and doesn't really get what he's doing is creepy but it can come off as a bit odd. But he's a good guy in the end and let's not forget this is a cartoon, anyway I appreciate both of y'alls perspectives.
@hanbeitakenakasama77354 жыл бұрын
@Adrian Nelson Well it didn't help that Gori pulled him along when he was unwilling and then being the drama queen that she is, assumed the worst. Of course this will fire lightbulbs in Haida's head. And he left without it being known that he was there once he got the big picture, and fended off Gori trying to persuade him to get to an OTMGirls concert. He understood once he saw, and never bothered Retsuko about it after. That's why he asked her when she went to Haida for guitar lessons, see if she's gonna spill the beans on him, but she didn't, and he didn't push the issue any further.

As much as I see myself in Retsuko, I think its safe to say that I also see myself in Haida. And I'm relieved that you spoke about him in the way you did. He's not very skilled at conveying his feelings, he makes a ton of poor choices, lacks confidence and for most of the seasons surrendered to being "a friendly coworker" but unlike many people who just burn the bridge after being rejected, he tries his hardest to at least maintain a good connection with her because he cares so deeply for her and wants to be able to support her.

THANK YOU. ||TEXT WALL ALERT|| I dislike how some of those being overly critical are putting Haida down for how he was in the last episode. I could see it rubbing certain people the wrong way, especially if it was something actually triggering for them, but Haida was amazing and I was utterly proud of him for stepping out of his comfort zone for Retsuko. I cried and screamed at my TV during that scene - "Holy shit. Good for you, Haida! I'm so proud of you!" He picked up on the fact that if he hadn't done what he had, none of them would've likely ever seen Retsuko again, and she'd continue to spiral down into the trauma and depression she was forcing herself to hold onto. Hell, HE would have never gotten the chance to see her again. So the thought of that, especially after realizing his feelings more by not choosing Inui, it only makes sense he went about it the way he did. A lot of people seem to forget another crucial detail: neither Retsuko or Haida are perfect. They have flaws. ALL the Aggretsuko characters have flaws; that's what makes the show so great and relatable for others. Could Retsuko have bounced back without Haida stepping in? Perhaps, but I'm sure with the implications the show was giving us, her life would have completely changed if nobody was there to give her that anchor of support to vent and allow herself the courage to be okay with who she is and how she is. I think a lot of those who had a problem with what Haida did is due to the fact the way the episode presented the situation seemed so fast and sudden. And to those people I can see how it might have felt like that, but at the same time, the show left it vague enough where no set dates were actually said or established. WAS it only a few days? A week? Or more than that, before Haida made his move and belted his feelings and annoyances back at her? Granted, I doubt it had been a month or more, but some time did in fact pass. That much is certain. Also, Inui's such a good girl and the fact she made me actually okay with the fact that she COULD have become the new special person in Haida's life, all that more shocking. When I ship something, I stand by what I ship HARD (in this case, I'm obviously referring to Retsuko and Haida). So the way she and even Manaka were established, absolute chef kiss. Not *every* character needs to have a vendetta or negative drive with a "potential" rival. They can be healthy people with mature actions, too. And while I'm sure Inui had her own feelings of hurt that Haida couldn't go through with choosing her, it's like you pointed out: it appeared like she silently and respectfully accepted it and through gestures only wanted to wish the best for Haida. That was so mature and even heartfelt for Inui to do, something she didn't have to do. Even if we don't ever see her again (I can only hope they opt for a fourth season), I still hope only the best for her, because Inui definitely deserves it. A part of me as a shipper was a little saddened with the way the final episode of the season ended, but after I let it register more after watching the season in one sitting, I realized: it was a **perfect** stopping point. OH MY GOSH, ARE THEY TOGETHER OR NOT??? ASDFJK. They probably aren't together, but because Haida opened up and exposed his feelings and belief in Retsuko, in a wavelength she understands to boot (ie: belting out in extreme song and music, no matter their skill levels) and going so far as to even say he could be someone safe for her to console with if/whenever she wants to, it made me so happy for them both. You can tell by that last scene alone when the two were walking together, whether the relationship goes platonic or romantic, they're both taking the time and space with each other to grow - something that greatly contrasts with Retsuko's past two relationships that felt more sudden and rushed. Haida and Retsuko are taking this new step in friendship slow, and that's more than okay. That's the way a healthy relationship should be, and I'm more than certain Haida will be nothing more than one hundred percent patient and okay with that. Aggretsuko Season 3 went to more bold places, and I love that they made that risk. It was definitely worth it and I can only hope we get a fourth season and a potential exploration of where this relationship with the two go.

I've seen many reviews about season 3 and I gotta say, yours was well-said and personally the best one by far. When I first saw the show, I wasn't sure what I was gonna get into but as I watched the whole series, I felt every emotion breaking through this show, especially this season alone. Retsuko went through a lot and I can sympathize with her. Same can be said with Haida in this season. As for the concepts you've pointed out, well-stated because when it came to Haida trying to help Retsuko to not feeling secluded, I felt both of their perspectives as Haida tries to shows uppermost support while Retsuko tries to avoid everything that's happened to her so far. Once, Haida sung out his thoughts on the mic, I at first was like, why is Haida saying seemingly hurtful stuff to her and then I realized once Retsuko unleashed, I realized that immediately it was as a coping mechanism from Haida to prove that she can still progress forward if she has the right amount of emotional support beside her. I'm ready for Season 4 as well and hope to see what comes next because I know people are hoping for Haida and Retsuko to get together but personally I think their bond went from Co-Workers to Friends and then potentially buidling forward their bond because it seems like they are starting to trust each other more while maybe get to know each other better. Overall, you captured the perfect review for this show.

OMG THANK YOU and this is just so well done, and honestly this season was far not just my favorite but also the most relatable cause I went through a personal experience as well that in the end caused me to loose my confidence but also my worth as a human. But yeah I felt that tough love and at times you need people like that. I really love the new characters and the heavy topics mentioned here. I really can’t wait if we get season 4 in the future! I’ll go and see your other videos too 💕

Just found your channel and watched your season 2 aggretsuko video before this and WOW you are amazing at these analyses. Loved how you brought up Ton's words of wisdom and tough love given each season (last season's was my favorite!) And at 5:00 I love how you acknowledge the difference in how he says those words this time! Episode 5 was a peak moment for me when Manaka mentions her age was FANTASTIC writing. I was not expecting any of that and I love how each season Rarecho is able to keep the show fresh by continuously growing Retsuko because in life we are always changing and growing. The way they tackle the different kinds of growth each season is extraordinary. Also, the perfect blue aspect of this season was certainly unexpected but also reminded me of a new manga that's on hiatus right now called Not Your Idol. There's a handshake event in it that begins the drama as with this and a few scenes that give me absolute chills. I am so excited for a season 4 and I loved that they ended it ambiguous but hopeful. I have had my ups and downs with shipping haida and retsuko but I really want retsuko to just open up which is a flaw I couldn't pinpoint until now. There's always been something about her character flaw but I couldn't pinpoint what and this season blatantly says it's her passiveness, but beyond that, it's her inability to open up to people! Also, I will always love tadano and I just learned his character is a mule and they can't have children which is another awesome detail of this show matching its characters with their animal. I hope we can see them all meet each other once in the next season or just keep him in passing as being friends with haida (interesting what retsuko would think of them becoming friends) but mostly just excited to see retsuko give haida a chance in being an actual friend to her! Also hoping fenneko gets her development somewhere next season. Anyways!! Great video, keep it up (I just subscribed), I hope to see a fourth season review from you sometime next year ☺ I nearly forgot, but that VIDEO OUTRO WAS PERFECT!

Thank you... for speaking from the heart. Aggretsuku’s been my bible since season one. As you, I was also.. let’s call it assaulted because it’s KZbin and I don’t want to deal everything that happened to me for 5 years on the table.. I’ve also struggled to get my life together. And even though I haven’t reached a good head level space yet, and I’ve been struggling to trust people and getting to truly know and understand the people around me, seeing and believing that everything will be okay in the end instead of having a profesional hammer that in your head when you know it’s just their JOB to tell you that to make you feel better - having shows like this one is quite refreshing.

She's likely to come back. Remember that nobody in the office knows who the good samaritan is when Retsuko got attacked, only Haida and Inui knows. If they use it as a plot point next season, you bet Haida won't be talking, but Inui will spill hints here and there, especially if Haida is struggling with it himself. Much is telling that Fenneko doesn't know an inkling about it aside from Haida choosing Retsuko over Inui, when weeks have passed since the attack and she still grills him for dumping Inui and he doesn't rebut or say anything.

Personally, I dislike how they handled Retsuko's trauma, and I especially hate how Haida quite literally drags Retsuko out of her save zone into, well, a different safe zone, but did Haida know about this at the time? Possibly. Tadano could have filled Haida in on that side of Retsuko. Listen, I know people who are shutting down due to trauma or bad confidence might need someone or something to push them into finding their feet again. Barging into a traumatized person's room and dragging them away with no explanation is a TERRIBLE thing to do, good intentions or not. And I get Haida's good intentions. I'm not questioning his motives at all. His actions are what I dislike. Maybe we, as the audience, knows it's best for Retsuko because we have information Haida never had, like Retsuko's tendency to make excuses for herself or not being in touch with her own feelings. Sure, Haida knows Retsuko will dismiss her problems in front of others, but he doesn't know she can't be honest with herself. Tadano does not know that. Gori doesn't seem to know either. I doubt Washimi would just blurt that sort of stuff out. And as a final problem, the show never tells us exactly how long Retsuko has been shutting herself in. It's clearly been quite a while, but there is a big difference is, for example, 2 weeks and 4 months of shutting in. That makes it much harder to judge just how badly Retsuko might need a bit of 'shock treatment'. It also makes a big difference how much time Retsuko might spend on the phone with friends, or even having them over for tea, more information the show never gave us. What I'm saying is, there is a lot of work season 4 needs to put in before I'll be happy with what happened here. You are, of course, free to have whatever opinion and interpretation you have.
