Retsuko worth a risk because she's like Rapunzel who needs to leave the tower luckily Haida saved retsuko's life to teach her about survival also Haida saved restuko from a mad men just like the handsome prince who saved Rapunzel from a tower away from that evil witch who's responsible for locking Rapunzel in the tower but I'm sure they'll know each other very soon.

I think people who are mad at this forget that all of Aggreskos friends also helped Haida to talk to Aggresko. He didn’t barge to her room alone her was with her friends who also want to see her happy. This is not about a male savor but an intervention from all her friends with Haida as the led or secret weapon to get her to finally express herself.

People aren't mad at that. People didn't like Haida trying to convince Retsuko that if she chose him to be her boyfriend, everything is going to be okay. That was inapropriate and egotistical of Haida. He should have been there as a friend, not a suitor. The scene seemed rushed to me.

Jonathan .T yeah and she says that in her yelling at him back. Characters can make mistakes but the whole show she been looking for the right guy. Also they didn’t really get together in the end just acknowledging their feeling for one another. People can also be there for you as both a friend and someone who wants to be with you. He didn’t try to kiss her or force her to say yes I need a boyfriend and it’s you. He just listened to her and then said “okay but we can fight this together” even if there not together in a romantic way yet. It shows that even with big fancy gestures relationships take time. Also because of the pandemic they had to rush the last episode a little more for animation purposes

For the longest time, there wasn't a real conflict between Haida & Retsuko because they personally avoided confrontations. Haida laboured under the pressure of his labels since season 1: "nice guy", "wuss" etc. Retsuko also has her labels:"nice girl", "reliable" etc The risk of pursuing a real relationship whether platonic or not, is that there has to be conflict...and accepting that its ok. What I liked about the roast scene between them is that Haida chooses to stay and listen. He listens to her insecurities, her insults but most of all he hears her hidden pain and he empathises right back with her! That was incredible writing. If there's a season 4, it won't matter if they don't get together. Haida has finally let his inner punk speak out to Retsuko's inner heavy metal diva.

Edit: It's been really fun talking to everyone about the ending! I love all the different takes on the ending and it's helping me reanalyze all the good and bad points of this season. I love it! So, people are mad about the ending claiming that Haida forced his feelings onto Retsuko but I think that people who are saying this don't understand the real meaning to that last part (plus, the subtitles on Netflix don't really help). After Retsuko is attacked and Haida saves her. Retsuko is traumatized and feels backed into a corner by the world (Which is fair). She begins to become a full NEET at her parents house and all she did was look at mean comments online. This season took some pretty big swings at Retsuko and a lot of people were telling her what to do and she did it without question. Even taking big hits to her mental health to do it. Heck, we start of with Retsuko still being heartbroken about Tadano and see her starting to get scared of taking anymore risks. Also, we start to notice a major flaw in Retsuko. She tends to bottle her feelings. By the end, Retsuko is emotional bottled mess that NEEDS to crack. She has suppressed her feelings for so long that they need to come out and she needs to be heard. Her friends are almost pliant with doing nothing when Retsuko is about to lose her job. Only Haida knows this some BS. Sure, I don't agree with storming her parents house and pulling her out but she needed a restart. When they get to the place. Haida is "forcing his feelings" to get her to react. He WANTS her to snap at him to get her to let her unbottle her feelings and it works. Retsuko snaps and finally lets her feelings be known. She is pissed, scared, and doesn't want anyone else to tell her how to live her life. She pretty much says the world is unfair and I did nothing to gain this much bad luck. Haida in return agrees and says your right the world is unfair but you don't have to fight it alone. Let me help you! He is asking Restuko to let him fight by her side. "If the world is unfair then let's make it a tag team battle." Haida is the only one to actually step up and responded to Retsuko in her metal mode and he wants to help her. At the end, they aren't dating but they aren't just coworkers anymore. They are actually friends and Retsuko is opening up to him more. Which is a much better place than last season. Yes, he still likes her and yes, he was turned down twice but the second time is not nearly as bad as the first.

Let’s be honest retsuko was pretty deep from the beginning by showing what most people in Japan go through at early age and they’re all scared to be an adult and to go on life on their own, but season three just rly showed how dark and close to real life this show is. I really hope there comes a forth season where we get to see more of it and how Haida helps retsuko through her feelings that she can only express through singing and actually makes her express it without singing

A lot of people disliked the ending scene cuz of how harsh haida was but in a way thats what retsuko needed, she's suprisingly strong headed and stubborn and usually is only motivated through harsh words, and Haida needed to snap her out of the idea that everyone was out to get her. He wasnt saying "let me save you" he was saying let me HELP you, but he also pointed out that retsuko on her own is also strong already, which retsuko doesnt believe. Thats why i love that the scene ends with him saying "then lets punch it back"
@Jennie-mm5zd
@Jennie-mm5zd 4 жыл бұрын
I agree, one flaw that Retsuko has is that she never speaks up whenever she needs help, she just bottle it down. Like her band mates were questioning if she was really fine after that fan greet and she just kept insisting she was fine and her stalking or security wasn't a big deal. If Haida didn't do anything she will just be stuck in her apartment, stressed and overthinking every decision and possibility. The thing is, both are the same in that regard. Haida also has troubles speaking out and afraid of confrontation just like Retsuko. I like this season cause we saw that even though Haida doenst really know Retsuko and Retsuko doenst really know Haida, the next season could be a start to open up as a person and to each other and to the world.

I swear, the scene where Haida is plucking flowers and flipping coins. Its all connected to the scene where the app shows that Haida and Retsuko are a perfect match. I can't find the right words but I'll try. When Haida was trying to search for answers, whether to choose between Inui and Retsuko, He always tried again every time he got Inui. Almost as if he was hoping to get Retsuko, or maybe looking for some motivation to continue liking her. But when the app showed that he and Retsuko were soulmates, he finally found his motivation, like he was waiting for the world to tell him "shes the one." Someone else can probably explain it better than this.
@0axis771
@0axis771 4 жыл бұрын
No, you got it down well. Basically, Haida was looking for a sign, any sign, to push him toward pursuing Retsuko because, in his heart, he knew that he loved her. So yeah, the app was just the push he needed. Even if people theorize that Tadano did actually rig the app to make Haida and Retsuko soul mates, it doesn't matter. Haida doesn't need the app to tell him his feelings. He only used the app as a tool to push his feelings forward and take the next step. That's why, even if Retsuko rejected him, and the app was rigged, it doesn't change Haida's feelings. If they are together, that's because they made it so, with their own strength.

Vindication is the word you're looking for. When he felt that everything was against him choosing Retsuko, something agreed with him. Especially after he and Inui broke up. And that must have felt like a massive weight was taken from his shoulders.

"The wise man is one who knows what he does not know" Haida is continuously repeating to himself that he doesn't know Retsuko, being this a great sign of humility. Even Tadano reinforce this idea, telling Haida that it's overconfident to assume you know someone.

I liked Inui a lot, but I didn't blame Haida for rejecting her. I've been in that situation before. Logically speaking, she should've been perfect for him. They shared the same interests, got along really well, and Inui even liked him back; all he had to do was accept her confession. But love knows no logic. It's cliche, but it's only cliche because it's true. Someone can seem perfect for you but you just can't see them that way. Just how it is sometimes.

For all the comments thinking that Haida was too out of line and how he wasn’t a hero. That’s not the case, I honestly agree with what Haida did because Retsuko was so ready to shut down her life and so ready to give up on everything, and all the nice things people were telling her just felt like it was something they HAD to say. It can be traumatizing and it can be painful but she honestly needed that push to realize who she is again and that she has people there for her. Instead of just completely disconnecting from reality. I have been in a very similar incident and I was ready to give up my own life to just get away from everything and the waiting, the nice comments. Just blocked everything out and I felt like I truly wasn’t here anymore, than someone very close to me started talking to me and almost yelling how they were frustrated on me giving up. Long story short- while it did hurt me at first, I realized I truly needed that jump start to keep going because if not I wouldn’t be typing this

Thank you for making this video! People need to talk about season 3 more! The way Haida dragged her out of her parents home was kind of a lot but I’m glad he’s taking action and not letting Retsuko fall back into bottling up her emotions and becoming fully detached. When someone is in that state it’s hard to realize your self destructive behavior and I think Haida realizes that a way to help Retsuko with this is by her going back home. From someone who has gone through something similar seeing someone step in so diligently is something I wished was done with me so now I only love Haida even more 🤷‍♀️ (The scene where he sang in front of her and then later stood up to her in her metal mode just blew me away omg I can’t believe these Sanrio characters make me feel so hard 😂) I’m glad where their relationship is and I’m excited to see how it will develop from here!

I watched both the Japanese and English versions and context and messages varies widely. There are scenes in english where a character was praising another character but the same scene in japanese has the characters admonishing each other. I believe the message that you get is different depending on the version that you watch. In japanese, the message I got was "there are no right or wrong choices in life. Only consequences you live with." This was the theme for the characters involved. Even side characters like Manaka and Gori participated in this theme.

While I liked season 3, Retsuko really annoyed me this season. I get that she was going through a lot, but she was so caught up in her own problems that she was neglecting her friends. She only reached out to them when she needed something from them, and was constantly lying to them about her problems to save face. It was at the point where Fenneko and Haida legitimately thought that they were nothing more than work buddies to her.

For anyone that sees the text below and thinks "TL;DR", the short summary is about how both S2 and S3 emphasize a moral about learning to let people have the freedom to love who they wish and to make their own mistakes to learn from, even if we think we know how their lives could be lead better... Considering how people seem to have issues about the ending about this season, it kinda makes me realize that some of the greatest strengths about this series (tackling adulthood struggles and developing maturity while also an adult) might also be it's weakness to others. This series has always been about morally ambiguous characters having to make tough decisions through adulthood and growing as a person, and part of that element for the show and IRL is to go through life's many pitfalls and triumphs. Some of the audience reactions also remind me of stories about friends and family that struggle to learn about stepping back so that the person they care for has the freedom to make their own choices and develop their own mistakes to learn from so that they can continue growing and developing. In a way, Retsuko saying that who she loves and what she does with her life in her metal vent to Haida feels like it wasn't just directed at him, but for the audience/fanbase as well, and also a nice nod to the moral that she had learned in S2: she's the one that holds the reigns to what she wants to do with her life, nobody else. ^^

@@fcomics476 Sometimes it do be like that. I myself suffer from depression (because of a relationship that didn't work and never had a proper closure, more or less my fault anyway) that it compromises my ability to decide for myself what I want, kinda like Retsuko and Haida. Sometimes, the help that I receive isn't the one I want, but you have to make do with what you got. Who knows, it might help you in the long run. As for the failed relationship, I just resolved to carry it as a burden, as a lesson. It's been what, 10 years? Hard to properly move on anyway, and never tried to look for love again (never did anyway, that one was just accidental), and I've never really told anyone outside the internet that I haven't moved on (hey, anonymity is nice am I right?) Some may call it immature, but maturity differs from person to person, situation to situation anyway. And not gonna lie, watching Aggretsuko S3 opened those wounds that sometimes I feel so close to breaking in tears, yet I have hopes for Haida and Retsuko to work out, because they deserve true happiness. Call it projection, but hey, it feels good rooting for someone to not make the same mistake as you, knowing that they still have a chance unlike you, fiction or not.

To add to OP's statement, her rants on Haida also reflected her relationship with Resasuke, saying that "he doesn't know her at all." However, what's more interesting is that at the end of the karaoke session, Haida's the only one who broke both of her expectations of him. He's the only one who proved (both to her and to himself) that he knew her all along especially with the extra Haida scenes we got this season, and despite it all, he's still extending his hand to her. And while the beginning of the exchange between them was rocky that it made Retsuko think Haida is just Tadano v2, he's also the only one to give her freedom to choose what she wants to do, and she used this freedom to the fullest when she finally paid Hyodo and got back to work on her own volition. She has come to respect Haida because of this, and by the tone of the ending song, she may have just started falling for him, and not because she realized that he's been looking out for her, but because he completely changed the way she looks at herself. He was right all along, she _is_ strong.

To resolve all this I decided to tell her my feelings saying that I was feeling in a limbo of emotions and that if she could just give me an honest answer my hearth would have been at peace. In the end she rejected me as expected but now I can just act as a friend with her, I understood that it was the right thing being a friend and moved on. Sometimes when people are in the depths of hell, they need a metaphorical bitchslap to motivate them to start climbing out. I love my sister more than life itself, but when she was at her worst, feeling lost, suicidal, just done with life...I had to have some pretty harsh words for her, scolded her pretty badly, but it was the only thing that would work after I'd tried every other approach. Later she thanked me for the "metaphorical bitchslap" I gave her. Tough love is almost as hard to give as it is to get...but sometimes it's the best love there is.

i wouldn't call forcibly inserting yourself into someone's life and repeating your romantic gestures after she's declined and not considering her feelings and projecting your own on her and invalidating her trauma from being LITERALLY STALKED AND ALMOST STABBED a "hero" thing to do. i literally love haida, but they absolutely MASSACRED his character this season. the great thing abt him was that he loved retsuko immensely but still respected her boundaries and agency, and never claimed to know her well. they just threw that all away this season and i couldn't be more upset. he was my favorite :^///

Felt like he was just a plucky side-kick/false lead who has a crush on the main character for the first two seasons. Then he got a dose of Retsuko romance arc (i.e not gonna work) this season and got his ass beat up with it, only to stand up after and push forward. In a sense they used Inui to show that no matter how hard he fumbles he will stand up in a manner that Retsuko doesn't (still hasn't gotten over Tadano by end of S3) and ends up better by relating his worries and flaws to friends that were more than willing to help him (Tadano was his MVP dammit). And now he's used that to extend a hand to Retsuko who's never felt more alone. And that's why he became the hero this season. Doesn't matter if he's the boyfriend/husband Retsuko deserves, but he sure did prove her that he's a friend that truly cares for her. And her finally telling someone that she hasn't eaten yet... that's the start of her not needing to wear that "perfect office lady" mask anymore.

Nor was Haida talking about it to anyone, including Fenneko, otherwise she would have changed her tone instead of calling him an idiot for rejecting Inui (Haida told her that much, but never beyond that from what I see). TBH. I love Retsuko and I love Haida but this season I found myself upset with both of them until the final 2 episodes. if I had to gauge where I'm coming from, I'm gori with Washimi tendancies...Highly animated but wisdom when needed. Retsuko, as much as I love her, is a doormat that bites her tongue when confronted with conflict. I use to be her. Saying yes and nodding along while your best interest slips further and further away from you always leave you lost at sea with no direction. it makes you not want to love yourself because once you get past feeling like you don't belong, you end up blaming yourself. Retsuko constantly makes her own problems then pridefully and aimlessly follows through with the BS despite the harm to herself... every season to me she's learning the same lesson, acceptance. accept reality, accept your own core values, accept your self mistakes and all. now for Haida. Hero or not, HE'S A GOD DAMN COWARD. To play double dutch with your feeling for 5 years is crazy! What pissed me off further was that S1 you told and was there. FRIEND ZONED. S2 was the biggest bro and tried to be her hero only to end up back in the friend-zoned once more. S3 you had a chance to move the fuck on. She repeatedly made the MISTAKE of friend-zoning him yet again, but there he was like a lovesick puppy chasing after her skirt tail. ALL THE OFFENSE, she should of lost her chance with him and he should of moved forward. BUT NO, Haida gets the ambiguous ending that feels like a repeat. Haida doesn't know his god damn worth and is willing to beat himself over the head for someone who has said no TOO MANY TIMES.....have the courage to leave dude.

Feelings are a bitch though, Haida himself can't shake it off and oftentimes he is doing it involuntarily. Can't call him a coward at this rate, because the way I see it, him turning around and calling it quits without truly meaning it makes him a coward as well, he's just turning his back on his own heart. So she shot him down the first time, big deal. Doesn't help that Retsuko herself kept the door open for him, just that "It wasn't the right time". Perhaps towards the end of S3 she already was considering it... but the show itself turned the situation upside down in 5 seconds flat even she snapped out of her rage. It was rushed, deserved more than just one 25min episode to make more sense with it, but I personally got the idea they wanted to convey anyway.

The flowers he plucked were the same concept and each time it landed Inui he still wasnt satisfied. He already made his choice it wasnt the app. Also Inui may have been simple but that's not what he wants. Shes perfect and he doesnt see himself with that. He says as much when he explains why he fell for Retsuko in the first place. Everytime someone told him to choose Inui he got more pissed and angry they were deciding what's simple and easy for him and that Retsuko is to complex. He didnt like that cuz it proved to him he doesnt know her enough to know shes complex cuz he never made a move for 5 years. While I do think Haida and Retsuko deserves love and I'm rooting for both of them, I don't feel Retsuko is the one for Haida. I get that Retsuko is a young adult and its hard to make a decision on what kind of person you want to be but she doesn't have any passions or ambitions and neither does Haida. The best thing is for the two of them is to remain friends, solving their problems together sometimes but learning it on their own mostly. One they can figure things out then maybe they can be together. Getting into relationships don't fix everything sometimes it makes things more complicated.

He forced a close dynamic on her, because that's what HE wanted. If this were real life, this would make things worse. Know how I know? I've been in traumatic situation that had me bottle up like this. And had a few people who "thought it was their duty" to help me. When I wasn't comfortable with them and ended up having a breakdown and retreated more. It wasn't Haida's place to do this. I am positive one of her other friends, or all of them would have done something. But she needed more time/compassion. This dynamic is SUPER unhealthy and I don't support Haida/Retsuko anymore.
@hanbeitakenakasama7735
@hanbeitakenakasama7735 4 жыл бұрын
There was a podcast with Ben Diskin that explained this, basically it worked because of what Retsuko is. It isn't something you should do on anyone, this involved intimate knowledge on her anyway. And besides, he wasn't alone. Fenneko, Gori, and *Washimi* backed him up. If Washimi permitted it, and she's clearly the most stable person in Retsuko's circle of friends, herself included, then you can absolutely bet that they know exactly what they are doing. It's been _weeks_ since she was seen at work anyway, and was dangerously close to losing her job at that point. Someone had to start doing something, and from what was suggested from the scene with the 4 of them, only Haida could get into Retsuko's wavelength, but he is indecisive, so Washimi started off by goading him about his shortcomings to Retsuko as a means of drawing out his inner determination. But then Gori happened and he did (ironically) get courage from the app. And no what he wanted was to pull Retsuko out of her rut. All he did was lay down almost everything he hid from her to get her to do the same, even did her signature song in front of her to make her see herself in him, and in return, let out her rage and frustrations and fears on him the same way. What you didn't notice however is that he adjusted his stance at least twice throughout the scene. This is why it worked, he sat, he listened, he made compromises, and gave her the encouragement instead of shutting her down. As for you... well, sorry to hear about it. But you have to respect that other people don't have the same limits and tendencies as you do. Some hide when pressured and some feel good after fighting the pressure. It's not wrong to be either, but it definitely is wrong to say that Haida's approach was wrong because you felt worse when it happened to you. Just read other stories about experiences on here or other videos about this scene, some of them are like you, some of them went through something like this and got better. *That is life.* No two people are exactly the same, no two people experience the same thing. What's important is that *you* eventually pushed out of it, but you have to face the consequences of it at some point. I mean Haida did, but he stood his ground and pushed _because he knows Retsuko doesn't deserve to be alone._ If it wasn't him, all she needed to do was walk out of the room and see 3 more people who she can be trust.

Man the whole ending to this season left me with a bad feeling. I loved season 3 overall, I thought it was a really great story, but the ending felt completely tone deaf. What Retsuko needed was a THERAPIST to help her through her trauma. I know this is a TV show and so unrealistic stuff happens, but the moment I saw the beginning of what Haida was planning on doing, I was like "oh no...". I've seen some good analysis saying why Haida didn't end up with Inui, saying that he wasn't ready for her yet because he was in a bad place, fixating on Retsuko. And I agree with that analysis. It's really a shame, but that's where his character was at, at that moment. That being said, there is no universe in which his actions with Retsuko were the right one. Retsuko's life is full of trouble, but she was carrying on with it completely without Haida. Haida is not in the picture anywhere during any of this. His assumption that he knows her, and knows whats best for her, honestly feels like a lowkey non violent version of Kangaroo Stalker. I think "And then Retsuko went to a therapist" would be a wild move for a romance comedy TV show to take, but a stand in for that should have been her friends and family giving her tons of support. It should have been Haida taking a lesson from the Kangaroo Stalker, and realizing he doesn't have any rights to Retsuko's feelings, no matter how much he's fixated on them. I see a lot of analysis saying he knows what's best for her and she needs to be pulled out of her shell. This is just rubbish, for the reasons stated above!

I don't think it was about him "knowing what's best for her" and was instead about her friends and family had all treated her gently and been supportive and she was just going to give up and none of them could do anything about it, but when Haida finally worked up the courage he _and the others_ decided to see if a different approach would work. It wasn't him forcing feelings on her but him giving her an alternate viewpoint and an alternate option to things. It was stated earlier in season 3 that Retsuko has a tendency to believe there is no other option for something and this is the only way to go about things but Washimi bluntly tells her "isn't it just because you've stopped looking for solutions?". Retsuko has proven time and again to need more than gentle reassurances to help snap her out of her funks. Like when she was dating the plant-guy, it wasn't until Washimi and Gori intervened and made her really look at the situation and forced her to see if it was really what she wanted. I feel like, yeah, the ending was kind of rushed and they just kind of poorly hinted at the fact that everyone had been trying to help Retsuko and they had all been trying to be gentle with her and it just hadn't been getting through to her. If they had shown more of the reactions of her friends and family--besides just Haida--and shown that _everyone_ was concerned and walking on eggshells around her (which her mom was sure to be doing based on the fact that she was clearly just letting Retsuko stay in her room all day and play on her phone), then the intervention at the end with Haida at the lead would have made more sense. I think Haida just convinced them that they couldn't just give up on Retsuko, like they all had clearly done, and what gave him the confidence to go through with it was Gori's app. Whether Todo intervened or not is unknown and whether that really mattered or just sped up Haida's burst of courage is also unknown. However, the only thing Haida forced Retsuko to do was to let out all that pent up anger inside of her and, really, she could have just walked out. Like when she begged for that one guy to pay Hyoda back, she could have just retreated further into herself. If Haida's approach _had_ been the wrong one, I think that's absolutely what she would have done. Instead she stood up, took the mic, and let out all the anger and frustration and fear she'd been bottling up inside of herself and Haida simply stood up and said, "you don't have to fight this alone, there are still people who are there for you and support you. I could _help_". And the rest of Retsuko's friends were just outside, _backing him up_. Personally, as someone who suffers from chronic depression, I know how easy it is to get lost in yourself and let all the things weigh you down. Kind support and gentle reassurances don't pull you out if you're in too deep. Like knowing how to swim isn't going to keep you from drowning when you're in a storm and neither will a lifeboat. Retsuko has always responded best, anyways, to being bluntly told things and being straight up told "hey, rethink this. Is it really as bad as you're painting it? Did you stop looking for solutions? Here's a solution". Just like all those times people literally offered her money and she turned them down, like when Washimi talked to her and offered to pay the whole thing but Retsuko just borrowed enough for food and decided to work through it. Sorry for the big rant lol I just think people have these ideas about trauma and these things and it's not always the same for everyone but they think it is?

Coudn’t agree more. Retsuko’s friends have made bad decision letting Haida to be her „music therapist”. Retsuko was clearly suffering with PTSD. Haida started his speech with some sort of reverse psychology and used Retsuko’s moment of weakness just to show her their tinder match… which is pathetic. And yet at the end of the scene it seemed that his method have worked because in the last scene of the episode we have them again, going to have lunch like nothing have happened. At this point I think it’s just bad writing. Showing that this kind of behaviour works and you can help your friends in deep trauma just by insulting them is wrong. THIS IS NOT HOW IT WORKS. I am disappointed with this ending.

well, he was backed by all of Retsuko's friends and they had all tried to pull her out but she'd been blowing them off. They'd all kind of given up on her. She needed someone to show her it wasn't the end of the world and put it in such a blunt, irrefutable way. Just like Washimi did earlier in the season and like many characters have been doing throughout the show. I don't think he shoved it in her face like "aCcEpT mY feeLinGs!" it was more like "it's not the end of the world, you're life doesn't have to be over" and, again, her friends were right behind him on this one. He wasn't mocking her for being traumatized, he was pointing out that she had stopped looking for solutions, just like Washimi had. Retsuko had given up all hope and none of her friends could pull her out of it, she needed a bit of bluntness from someone she cared about. She needed to get angry and let out all of the pent-up emotion, too. Every one of Retsuko's friends have, at some point, very bluntly roasted her XD this is nothing new and it has absolutely proven to be the only thing that ever really gets her out of her funks. Yes she was traumatized but she was letting that trauma define her and she had to be bluntly told "you're saying this trauma you've gone through defines you but we all know that isn't true and that you're stronger than this". She didn't believe she was strong enough, and she was deadset in the belief it was her against the world--Haida just pointed out it's not, that she's got so many people backing her up and this trauma doesn't define her because there's so much more to her, she'd just forgotten. sorry for ranting lol

@@darcy606_artist Well said. It's funny that Haida of all characters became blunt and roasted the dogshit out of her through his own style (punk) lmao. He really pulled a "I'd do anything for Retsuko. Even if it means I have to give her tough love to achieve stability and happiness" this season.

@@aprilcelesti Yep I love it XD I totally fangirled over him singing too. I like to think Retsuko gained a new level of respect for him after seeing that lol (or at least I hope). It's pretty awesome that he's literally the only character who has managed to actually match her when it comes to singing and I love that instead of hinting at "oh they r meant for each other" the writers of the show r just having the both of them grow as people first and I think it explains why they never got together beforehand--cuz neither of them were really ready for a relationship. Retsuko has a lot to work through in her personal life and Haida, while not having nearly as much to work through, has been hiding behind that nice-guy facade. I am way too hyped over this show, sorry for ranting XD

Also don't forget that originally, he never mocked her. He was goading her out by asking her questions about her choice to shut herself in, ending it with "You're good with this, huh?" ("Ii omibunda na?") And well Haida's singing SUCKED ass (aside from that scream, that scream was GOOD), but this was supposed to be canon anyway.

Haida is not a hero. Retsuko wants to marry rich so that she doesn't have to necessarily work, Haida wants a 2 income household. In s1, Retsuko considered dating Haida and realised they had different aspirations, thats why she hoped Tadano would change his mind but he found marriage stupid. Haida turned down the other girl coz he wasn't into her to put it simply. I also think Retsuko's parents are upper middle class or even rich considering they still give her money

It's funny and well written as usual. But I think the plot of this season is a bit over the top. Not quite jumping the shark but how do you go back to the relatable themes of every day adulthood after sticking her as the lead singer of an idol band? Cannot relate LOL

They probably won't considering that the cat is out of the bag already and everyone knows her metal singing. They will probably build into that next season, maybe start a band with Haida as bass and Fenneko as lead/backup guitar (depending on if Retsuko will play guitars as well), considering in the shorts she already has guitar experience?

So are we gonna ignore the fact Haida stalked her out of town and followed her? I love Haida but that part bugged me. You don't stalk someone period.

Gori cajoled him into following her, and made it look that there was something bad about it which just triggered Haida into following all the way to Hokkaido. Of course once he found out what's been actually going on, he stops and just goes back.

I hate to say it, but Haida is kinda creepy to me. Retsuko already turned Haida down during the Christmas special in a very nice yet firm way. She pointed out that he knows nothing about her and he's just a work friend. Haida is still trying to get into a relationship with her despite being turned down. It just doesn't sit right with me. I'm not saying what he did isn't a bad thing but I don't like how persistent he is after being turned down.

I’m tired of so many RxH shippers praising season 3 for how it subverts expectations and gets dark and real, when it does none of those things. It’s a poor attempt at keeping the audience glued to the screen by throwing box cutters and murderers and annoying songs at you. When is a reviewer going to talk about how garbage this season was

Calling her "chicken" for being traumatized is so fucked!! No matter what, you don't call ANYONE'S trama chicken and downgrade them for being heavily effected by a situation. He went about it wrong, you don't try to fucking force someone to see you as a hero, and even if you try to be there for someone like haida terribly tried, you bring them up with positive shit, ex: "you got this and i want to help you!! you're strong and i know it..." not singing about your trauma is chicken, could have done better but he didn't, haida sucks.
