Bludd Light (Part 3)

Ok, I think winter break is over so it's back to this terrible game with Sara and I while Diabetus continues to fight in a war or something. Our protagonist, Pipo, faces some issues as the game introduces combat and a love triangle comes into play as Millie enters the gang. Can Beardo, Pipo, and Whatsherface get along?!

My favorite thing thing about Pipo's death is that it's played out so tragically dramatic, as if Beardo just lost his only companion since waking up, the one thing he could trust in this zombie-infested hell-hole of a facility. And it does end up being tragic but for the completely wrong reason, because we just witnessed the brutal death of the only character we liked, and now we're stuck with this poorly-rendered stone-faced zombie-gangrene-infected moron for the rest of the game.

Pipo was too good for this world. He's in Valhalla with Sven-senpai now, having fallen in glorious battle. And I like to think that Beardo is doing finger guns because he's going "pew pew pew" in his head at every zombie he sees.

I agree. She's very entertaining in kind of a subtle way. (Also, at the risk of sounding haughty, I think she's also the only guest that has never gotten on my nerves for one reason or another.) I do hope Retsu keeps SlowBetus as its core, but she's a great addition. I actually kind of wish they'd have the guy from Trag back some time, too. He was overbearing at times but his enthusiasm was contagious.

I would have said Dead Space, which did the same thing with the inventory and is more thematically similar. I have to say, that game really would have been... *different* with tank controls, boring environments with no enemies, and constant sidekick characters. Thank goodness Overblood is here to show us how space horror is really done. Edit: Wait, are we even in space? I just kind of assumed we were. Maybe it would be a bigger twist if we weren't.

You'll be surprised by the multiple rapid-fire plot twists coming. You won't be _pleasantly_ surprised, though, especially since you'll put two and two together long before Beardo does.

Also from what I counted, so far in the game you had 2 opportunities to die because of danger (the falling walkway and the zombie) and FOUR opportunities to die because of your own mistakes (walking into the floor hole; the platforming section; explosion you CAUSED YOURSELF; and jumping onto a train track). The primary antagonist of the game is not the zombies or the base, but protag's own stupidity.
