My dad was in the Army and we lived on base. We went to the base movie theater to see this. When those soldiers started shooting the whole theater erupted in applause. Good memories.

@@radicalthunder5740 It was the 80s, Fort Leonard Wood Missouri. Lots of young newly enlisted troops, and the height of the cold war. That scene of Army soldiers taking on impossible odds was enough to get the whole theater cheering. You had to be there.

One guy, even shared to me how when he was a kid. he saw the uncut version of The Lost World: Jurassic Park in Yokota AB, Japan. His mother was a USAF personnel stationed in Yokota.

Alex Damand Trioxin gas mutates the zombies here to near-immortal status. Part of the writers’ plot to distinguish it from the Romero zombies. Trivia: This was a “take that” to the Romero zombie genre. Romero actually sued the producers of the Living Dead series for copying the “Dead” trademark but the court overruled it. However, Romero later learned to enjoy the Return of the Living Dead franchise itself!

@@viniciusvalois2634 Yeah. Most zombie movies basically see zombies as monsters who move around like damaged but functioning machines. And they can be killed like normal animals. However, these are basically humans with their intelligence and consciousness still with them. It would be like waking up from a coma and realizing that your body seems more fragile and every part of you feels as if it is bitten by a dog non-stop. And only the urge to attack humans and living creatures in order to find the best painkiller, brains. (Though I don't get why they had to do brains in particular out of every existing organ on a human).

They are still made out of ordinary human tissue and need to have intact bones in order to stand upright. High-powered rifle bullets, especially the ones from that M60 machine gun, should have been able to shatter some vertebrae, pelvises, femurs or tibiae, and made at least some of the zombies unable to walk.
