I remember when I was about 5 years old, my parents had this on VHS. I watched it one day and I remember actually being scared at certain parts. For years I went on without knowing what the title of the movie was until I was around the age of 14 or 15. I came across someone who had uploaded the full movie on youtube, this had to be some time in 2012. I was so excited to watch this for the first time since I was a wee lad, I’m now 20 and recently watched the 1st movie and this one. This one will always be my favorite. It holds a special place in my heart. Fun fact: Mitch Pileggi from X-Files plays the part of the sarge in this one.

This was my favorite trailer voice-over guy of the 70's, 80's, and 90's. I can imitate his voice very well, but no one beats Percy Rodriguez, when it comes that voice. He practically narrated my childhood in the 80's.

The TRIFORCE of the undead, if you will. ROTLD zombies aren't like Romero zombies ("You mean the movie lied???"). They retain their intelligence and can move pretty fast. They might not seem intelligent, though, as they are obsessed with eating brains to kill the pain of being undead.

You really misunderstood/misremembered the end of the original. At the end of the movie it starts to rain trioxin, indicating a zombie holocaust is about to be unleashed. _That_ is what the sequel ignores.

When this came out, even the advertising scared the snot out of me. (I was only 12 at the time.) "Seven of the living... against an army of the living dead!" I was such a wimp then, lol. Interesting that they don't play up the comic aspects of the film in the trailer until the very end. With how cartoony the "Nightmare on Elm Street" series had already become, you'd think they'd have wanted to emphasize the humor.

Greg K i thought this was a WONDERFUL reflection of what it was meant to be. The first was very "early 80s Punk scene" the whole movie drips with it, from the costumes worn to the set design and environments. A dark yet comedic story. The second one was more a reflection of the society that came afterward which was more of a joke, yet 100% encapsulated the "late night creature feature" feel that was found in late 50s and 60s culture. a form of B Horror film that you could go to the movies and have a laugh at while enjoying a good scare. I kind of liken it to Scooby Doo. the original was grittier and took itself seriously and is celebrated the world over..... and then A Pup Named Scooby Doo comes out in the late 80s and encapsulates the same creature feature/but-regularly-and-vehemently-makes-fun-of-its-own-ridiculousness while maintaining a modern (for the time) throwback to 50s and 60s pop culture blended with a modern approach

They were really all supposed to be bad joke films. George Russo got cut from the project since the first and didn't help much as he would have liked. Poor guy. He wrote night of the living dead with George Romero.

+John Socoloski First off it's John Russo. He wrote a horrible derivative script that had to be redone by real talent. Dan O'Bannon made a great 1st movie, "brains" jokes aside. Besides Romero's Dawn of the Dead was really jokey.

Lorimar? Didn't they make "Full House" as well? I want a cross over where the "Full House" characters race to board up windows and stay alive while fighting the army of the undead. Kimmy Kibler could also become a zombie. When Kimmy is in Zombie form, everyone finds it REAL easy to whail on her ass. Finally, the movie comes to a head where Danny and his daughters must confront the reanimated corpse of the wife/mother they lost so long ago. Will the family survive?!? That would be awesome!

Part 2 is truer then Part 3, 4, and 5. I mean, in part 3 if you get bitten you turn into a zombie, in 1 and 2 you didn't unless you get a lot of that chemical on you. Hell in 4 and 5 the zombies get killed if they get shot. Not like in the first 2.

Return of the Living Dead 3 was okay. Certainly better than 4 and 5, but a completely different tone from the first two films. 3 had little humor and very graphic special effects, which is one of the reasons I didn't particularly care for it all that much. Brian Yuzna directed the film as well as Society, a wonderful creepy, cliched, body horror film that's worth checking out if you liked the body horror of ROTLD 3. The writers and producers had a good thing going with the mix of horror and comedy of the first two ROTLD films (although 2 ventures more into comedy, and Director Ken Wiederhorn HATED the film, so much so that he is absent from any new interviews done by Shout Factory for the recently released Blu-ray of ROTLD 2, but he also directed the excellent Shock Waves [1977] a great Nazi Zombie film), and I wouldn't have minded that in three as well. Heck, they could have even brought back James Karen and Thom Matthews from the first two films and I would have loved it. Have you seen 4 and 5?

The girl who plays the older sister; I've seen her in a couple commercials in the last couple of years. Most recently in a stock brokerage commercial. She plays a woman who's sitting at a table with a guy in a suit and she's doing all the talking making it seem like she's the stock broker, but she's the client. It's just that she's so well informed by the brokerage firm that she can do all the selling. Anybody seen this commercial? She was also in a diet commercial a couple of years ago.

hehe well in the first movie. the zombies did run after Chuck and Casey to the medical supply warehouse. Tarman used the pulley to get Tina out of that closet. one Zombie said "Come in dispatch, send.. more.. paramedics" the other "Send more cops" And my favorite. that undead cop lead the other cops to an ambush. but i do agree about them able to die from electric shock that was pretty stupid...

@WHOSTHEONE1 It basically throws you off a bit because its also kind of a a rehash of part 1, also there's tons of people nowadays who just hate kids and they'll give it a thumbs down just for having a youngster in the movie. Modern zombie movies are real crappy and irritating because the action is sped up too fast to see anything and the make up is usually just a splash of blood on someones face, etc. PS Thom Matthews is the best wailing sob the screen has ever seen!

@Bitchesgivehigh5s Yeah, about 10 yrs. ago, my friend and I used to play "Castlevania 2 : Simon's Quest" for the NES. I don't know if you've ever played it, but at night time, if you are in a town, these green zombies are EVERYWHERE and they'll chase you. My friend and I used talk about how bad ass it would be if that would happen in our town. I always said I'd hang out on my roof and shoot them. But it'd never happen because real life isn't that cool. Hence why video games were invented...

There are a lot of people that buy the best coffins and whatever else makes a funeral home rich. If you are religious/ spiritual or atheist, you can agree... You're dead. You really don't care what happens to your body. If families wanted to do something sincerely nice for the departed, they could spend the extra money on something nice for the living, like plant a tree in memory of the dead or use the money to put someone through college. People are still very superstitious about death.

I never knew this movie was part of a squeal. I only know is that this movie was my first zombie movie that I watched, but I saw it on Spanish though. I'm glad I know the name of the movie. I was starting to think I will never know the name of it. The only thing that helped me remember something about the movie is the part of the zombie Micheal Jackson. Oh the memories. :)
