Wow, I didn’t really have an opinion one way or another on Mr Genge aside from loving his rugbying ability and mindset as a player…but listening to him on this podcast, I am now a huge huge fan of Ellis Genge the person. He comes across as such an intelligent, well spoken, respectful and humble person. What a fantastic young man to be representing the sport of rugby and for the youngsters, boys and girls to look up to as a role model to aspire to be like. Well done to you Sir. Great show guys.

I like Ellis but he us nowhere near the top international props right now. He doesn't dominate the scrum and more worryingly, he produces very few meaningful line breaks in test matches

On another rugby pod (apologies) they list the topics of discussion within the timeline, which I find extremely useful. Any chance you can do the same please? I enjoy listening to your pod, but don't always have the time to do the whole episode.

Great show. One thing still bugging me is when is a forward pass not a forward pass? Will it ever be possible to get a definitive decision? Is it worth discussing still? Scientists talk about relative velocity, gridlines and the player's backward hand movement to determine the backward trajectory. But shouldn't it be about the ball? Did the ball move flat/backwards from point A to point B or not. (Probably more relevant to long passes than pop passes).

Oh, he's like that. Given his onfield persona I figured he'd be more of that extroverted, super bright personality/gets too loud and overexcited sometimes. He's more of the stoic Jedi master really.

It struck me, when Hask said 'typical ''English man'' on holiday' and Ellis looked at James.....and it made me think. I know what James means. James know what he means. We all know what he means. But essentially, the use of 'typical' english man to refer to a white english man's experience....it was just Ellis' look that made me think, we need to be more careful with our language. Not saying James is wrong here. I do this all the time. Anyway.KZbin comments might not be the place for this kind of musing. And to clarify, i love the podcast. I think i need to go to bed.

@Limey Turtle yeah, i'm well aware of that. And want to reiterate my point isn't actually aimed at James - it's more a general observation rather than a criticism. But am happy to be shouted down, criticised or told to shut up. Just thought I'd put my thought down. Why not eh? I know it'll be seen as a 'fucks sake, what are you on about, woke c*nt' statement.....but it was just a gentle musing, rather than anything else :)
