I swear that high left foot method is more powerful. Clearly it works for the stand but it makes the sit harder. On the send go, he was clearly too tired to even try to place his left foot high so he just cut it and ninja kicked to the pinch. The same left-foot off beta worked for Kai Whaley, Ryuichi, Nalle, Will Bosi, Zander, and Zach Galla.

From the soles it looks like instinct slippers on both feet for the send go. Maybe he experimented with different shoes because of the toe hook beta on the last move or other toe/heel hooks before that.. I guess the slipper doesn’t stay on your foot quite as well for those kinds of moves because it doesn’t have a strap, nor rubber toe patch?
