Return to CLEAR RIVER for CHUNKY Smallmouth Bass

This was a River I had fished a few day’s ago and had to come back fish more of it. Started off with top water but had several hits without catching them. Went downstream to the lake then cane back up fishing slower with the hellgrammite and caught several good ones.

Smallmouth fishing is awesome! Great fighters! Here in ohio there is many creeks and rivers to chose from. I just picked on one those reels. I like my kast king spinning reels. They are holding up well so far. I generally go for catfish, crappie, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and an occasional striper or wiper. Great video!

First off, you have been inspiring me to check out a ton of new creeks around the Cincinnati Ohio area and I have been catching em just following your technique and lure choices! 👍. My next question is though why do you use a net with a woven bag instead of a plastic bag? I’ve heard plastic bags are better for the fish and they don’t tangle your lures. Just a thought

You might consider stopping when they hit and miss the top water . Let it sit a little bit and wiggle your rod tip and make the bait tremble. See if that increases your hook up. God bless you and keep you safe.
