Love catching those Coppernose Bluegill!!! I live just north of Nashville and have to drive to Tennessee/Alabama state line to catch em tho!! They are in private lake i have permission to fish and out pull the Tilapia that are stocked in there!! Great video buddy and INCREDIBLE scenery
@Steve-ev6vxАй бұрын
I catch them sometimes in Northwest Florida, but my PB bluegill didn't have it, and it was a big black male. It's weird, they seem to be in certain ponds and lakes, but not everywhere.
@sethjohnsonoutdoors4055Ай бұрын
@Steve-ev6vx I've noticed that as well!!! The Coppernose Bluegill I'm catching in southern Tennessee were stocked special which might be how other places get their Coppernose Bluegill!!! By special stocking programs

You put up some great footage that shows how awesome the Everglades are! The water is low and a little cooler- so the native species are biting better. I got into a ton of those little spotted sunfish off of Alligator Alley.

I love fishing that area. At the end of that road is a campground in case you did not know. Also about 1/2 mile before the campground is a small bridge you drive over. That is a hot spot for huge Oscars. It's a long drive, worth it, especially if you camp out there and fish your way back out.
@CreekFishingAdventures27 күн бұрын
last year i fished all that and caught way more fish than this time
@fishinkeylargo27 күн бұрын
@ Water has been real high the last few months giving the fish opportunity to push back deeper into the Everglades around the canals. As the water starts to drop the fish will move back into the canals again. It’s starting to drop now, I’m hoping the fishing starts to pick back up.

I got skunked all weekend long. Caught absolutely nothing Saturday afternoon/early evening after work. Didn't get out Sunday. Got out today (Monday) and fished a pond I know is stocked with trout and also contains bass and bluegill, not so much as a nibble. Hit another pond that I know has green sunfish, bluegill, bass, and catfish, still nothing. It was a nice day, today, too. At least somebody is out there catching fish.

If you have a boat focus on I-75 and Rt. 27 if you are fishing from the shore look at Rt. 41 and Rt. 29. Rt. 29 has some pretty unproductive water but it also has some very good water. On Rt. 41 you have probably 75 miles of water to fish on foot. The western part is brackish water the farther you travel east it’s more fresh water. The farther east you also have some good water you can fish out of a boat. If you come down at the right time, and fish the right area you can have some unbelievable fishing. Catching 6 or 8 different species in a day is pretty common in some areas.
