Return to Monkey Island Cogg Island Achievement Guide (Secret Cut Island from Trivia Card)

This short video shows how to access Cogg Island, an island that was cut from Return to Monkey Island during development. You have to find the associated trivia card, and answer with the co-ordinate to unlock it. Then open up your map and sail to your personal co-ordinate, then read the sign in the clearing for the achievement.

Odd how much seems to have been cut. We didn't even know this game was coming until recently, so I wish they would have taken the additional time to fully flesh out the game. As it is, the game feels a bit simple.

@@crimsoncrusader4829 I think the first part on Melee Island was also a bit generic, the game opened up once you got to the sea map but it was still very non-sketched out in terms of locations and a lot of the puzzles were a bit on-the-nose.

I kind of can see it being cut for other reasons than just time, it looks more like a Legend of Kyrandia puzzle setup (or worse, Myst) than Monkey Island, less item and dialogue puzzle and more puzzle machine. We got a puzzle like that at the end with the door to THE SECRET and it was definitively less fun than the rest. I'd rather have a short game that's fun the whole way through than a slog of gears and levers to pad it out.

Do you know if the Trivia Card is bugged? Mine doesn't have coordinates. Is there something I'm missing? It's the last fucking card left, and I picked it up like 8 times! None of them have coordinates! I can't seem to find anyone online with a solution, even though there are people who are stuck like me.

This must be bugged. I've got all the trivia cards, finished the game 3 times and the coord of J.8 i go there and dive but then just go to the normal sea area.

@@Slashi85 when I got it I pressed on my ship rather than the back button. I also came up from the bottom instead of the right. First try didn't get it moved slightly left then got it

it's random and the coordinates are random too. also I believe you have to already have beaten the game once before it'll spawn

I think this island is one more joke from Ron Gilbert about the cut content of most modern games. Dont take it so seriously, I am sure it's not cut content of the MI game

No, I found it at around 50 cards, so seems like it's just random.

I think to answer the question with the coordinate you may need to beat the game first though because I couldn't answer with a coordinate at first
