God bless the veteran's from all the parts of the commonwealth. Thay need to be fully honoured and respected. It such a shame that the Royal British Legion has become no more than a money grabbing organisation with nearly 90 million pounds in the bank, pays ther administration and senior management obeisance salaries and now wants to pay £65,000 pounds for a Diversity equity and Inclusion manager. We have nearly 5000 veteran's living on the streets I the uk that the ministry of defence and government have abandoned. It may be a good idea members to stop greasing the palm's of the fat cat's running the organisation and focus on the destitute veteran's that truly need the members help. Or do the members no longer remember why the Legion was formed all those years ago. In the early days l know from my dad's experience after being a pow in Burma that the Legion was there and helped our family after malaria killed him when I was only 5 years old. Then the management were manly all part time professionals that did the job for little or no reward. Now it's big business with big profits going into the people running its pockets. The whole Legion organisation should be ashamed of itself, it would be bad enough if it was a couple of hundred vet's homeless and destitute on the streets but nearly 5000 on the streets while the Legion seats on 87 million in the bank. Every member or the Legion should look at themselves and ask what are we doing, as it isn't what the founding principles of the Legion was, no veteran will be abandoned or turned away. Well that founding principle must have been abandoned in exchange for corruption and profits. I only hope the present members may rediscover the founding principles. But I'm not holding my breath as with all corporations as the Legion has become its profits before everything.
