Great conversation!! I have a friend (lives in the US), worked for an international software development company - hired to do 100% remote work, except for sprints. In 2022, he asked for a formal accommodation to attend the sprints remotely, which was informally met until the head of the company directed all the employees to be non cooperative. They never fired him, but he eventually quit due to the psychological burnout of being discluded from successful team participation. I'm very glad I work at a place where diversity, equity, and inclusion matter! There is always continuous improvement, especially as technologies evolve and workloads become more complex.
