Legend, got me through this boss fight, was wrecking my head, had a small amount of health left (didn’t have to use the Astronaut). Used the carbine level 6 and Damage Siphon, also melee attacked couple times at end. The fight was so intense 🤟😎 thank you

That phase 3 is brutal. Got it on my second try but it was by the skin of my teeth. This game is very difficult but also very rewarding. I am hoping if I have the skills to beat this guy then I have the skill to beat the game. The story actually has me really intrigued. Also side note: the haptic feedback and 3D audio are incredible in the game. Can’t imagine the game without these features.

Solid video man, sometimes I need someone else to notice something I didn’t. My first time phasing him I got caught off guard really bad during the second phase, but now I can see what I did wrong. I don’t have tons of time to play, so thanks for putting in the hours recognizing the patterns!

Returnal's difficulty comes from not knowing what to expect. Once you know the basic response to everything that is happening, the game becomes much easier. In my first playthrough, I died 105 times. In my second, starting completely from scratch, I died 3 times. Most of my first time deaths were because of trying to be too fancy in the fights instead of being cautious and retreat when necessary. It's learning the dance that takes time. Returnal's gameplay is so active, smooth, responsive, and lovely. It's a very compelling game to play.

Hey! Thank you so much! Because of your vid I was able to kill him in one shot. I wasn’t able to dodge as nice and pretty/simple as you made it, but got the job done :D (honestly still had half of heath left, used the astranaut). Those wondering I used hollowseeker, level 8 with alt fire because the electricity thing lol. I’ll say the alt electricity really drained the last of his health for phase 3, was a life saver.

I just HAD to sub after watching this vid dude! You made that Boss fight look AND sound simple! Nice , clear descriptions of what & when to do things. Truly excellent! I had a very weird crash playing Returnal a few days ago (on PC) & lost ALL my progress :( I almost quit completely but read about a mod that makes a separate "Back-up" save file. So now ive blasted through & overtook where id got to before & am about to face this Boss for my 1st time...... EDIT: Hahahaha, following this guide/vid i killed Ixion first try with 141% Health remaining!!! Lmao, i didn't even need to use the "Large Silphium" vial!!! Great vid mate, thanks!!!

Cant believe i beat this boss on first try thanks to your tutorial! Easier than Phrike. I had full health and astronaut which i did not even have to use. Still had plenty of health after. ONE IMPORTANT TIP ...always rest in between phases. You cant beat it with tired fingers!

Heya @Ashen One Heya @Chat Thanks Ash for getting me past this boss he seemed insane to get through but with your clear and easy instructions I blasted through defeating my embarrassing month long battle against this TW%^$ of a boss ahaha. Having said I blasted through, those words only lasted very shortly though as I stepped into the incredible Derelict Citadel, OH MY GOD what an amazing place to explore and loot. Returnal proves 500% that people are wrong saying Gaming's easy and not good for gains, gaming IS good for gains and brains ahaha I haven't felt this vulnerable in a game since I forced myself navigating the haunting ruined hotel in Last Of Us 1 and the dark tunnels in Metal Gear Solid Sons of liberty to name a few of my childhood and early adulthood ventures Thank YOU @Ashen One I will no doubt be crawling myself back to your videos after being defeated by gaming bosses time and time again ;)

Great guide. The only part I did differently though was with the cone attack. Just run away from it. You're less likely to take small damage than if you dash through it.

You can melee spam him in phase 3 once he is in close combat range. He will get down after a handful of strikes - I dont remember how many exactly, it was quite fast... Dont forget to dash through his counter attacks eventually. This ended phase 3 pretty fast for me and I was kinda irritated like hey thats it lol This melee spam attack reminded me of the sentinents which were a hell of a fight on a distance but super easy in close combat
