@Jonny Boy That is, of course, not correct. All skeletal muscles grow as they are strengthened. If you've ever even looked at a powerlifter you'd see that their core muscles are very large because of the immense strength necessary to support the rest of the body under that kind of stress. It's actually become more common in bodybuilders as well - in part due to HGH abuse, but also because of increased load on the torso and high protein intake.

It's a roguelike - so your progress is saved but every time you die/ turn your console off you start at the beginning. The game itself probably only takes a few hours to complete once you've done all the work.

You're crazy hard-passing a fantastic experience like this, it's the best game i've played in 2021. The save thing is an inconvenience, but hardly game breaking - sleep mode on the PS5 makes it a minor issue.
@LordShrub3 жыл бұрын
I thought the game looked blurry but didn't know if it was because of the recording or KZbin compression. But DF investigated this and concluded that it uses temporal upsampling from a 1080p image. They also confirmed with the developer that the RT is only used to accelerate global illumination via rasterization, so don't expect ray traced lighting and reflections. I thought this needed to be mentioned. So when Sony says 4k 60fps with raytracing take it with a grain of salt and an asterisk. The underlying visuals look great but kinda held back by the blurriness.

What about the issue of not being able to save mid run? Most other roguelikes allow you to back out and save. This is key if you have a busy life or other people who use the console, etc. The fact I have to rely on rest mode and no one else touching my PS5 or a friend going hey let's play something else means I will never own Returnal.

I dislike this, there are ways to ensure you can back out and play another game whilst making sure you can't abuse the save file to prevent having to start again. For example, once you load a save after loading the game, it deletes the save file, so you can't quit the game/shut down the ps to reopen the save again. Can you still put ps5 in rest mode and resume? So basically we cant switch game?
@SOTVT3 жыл бұрын
The lack of autosave or saving at all is a big problem, imo. The game is out tomorrow, got good reviews and I doubt they will implement an alternative mode where you can save (a lite mode) any time soon.

It's not entirely fair to say you have to do it all in one sitting because bosses only need beating once and shortcuts allow you to get back to where you were quite fast. I know you still need to do your finishing run in one, but people need to realise they're not having to do it ALL in that run.

I’d say give it a shot. This is force once in a long time where we get a gameplay focused PlayStation game that isn’t riddled with overly cinematic cutscenes and has mediocre gameplay.

I would say wait for a sale as 70 dollars is cheap expensive however overall this game is great for your first rogue like experience the wonderful different atmospheres you will encounter are truly a beauty in itself, while the graphics might not be the greatest the beauty in attention to detail is where this game stands out truly you’ll find yourself leaving a mental reminder to return to an area to explore when you have the capability to do so the fighting in this game is truly one of a kind with the arcade shoot em up feeling and the use of strategy and adrenaline this game puts the player through leaves for an exciting experience and the restarting of game when you die is in no way a discouragement youll find yourself looting for specific items or dying while trying to get a sense of feeling to the movement and play style when you die in boss fight I’ve always found myself repeating “we’ll get him next time” this reminds me of playing in arcades, you’d put your tokens in give it your all and when you loose you wanna go right back to the action my final verdict for the Returnal is 9/10

You're way too fast damn. I'm waiting on bug fixes to release for both these titles. I'd rather not spoil the fun of Nier, and rather not frustrate myself to death with Crashes that wipe clean all progress in Returnal.

Wait no saves meaning you have to play the entire game in one sitting? Or no saves in each level?
@amethystwyvern3 жыл бұрын
Whole game in one sitting. You're expected to pause the game and leave your ps5 on rest mode. This game would make more sense if it was a XSX exclusive seeing as it has Quick Resume and PS5 doesn't.

Very eloquent review. I have a few questions (anybody, please feel free to answer, too): 1- Are there difficulty level options? 2- Are there more things you can do, besides primary and secondary fire? Anything like the mods in Remnant, or at least some melee? 3- What do you mean by "you can't save the game"? Is it like Dark Souls and Hades, or you literally can't save? 4- If you "beat the game", can you keep the same "save file" so you can keep playing and using the weapons you already found? Thanks.

They need to add SOME kind of save and quit feature at the very least, I can't deal with a game that requires me to sit down and beat it in one sitting.
@alexanderperez76693 жыл бұрын
What really how long is it?
@otakon173 жыл бұрын
@@alexanderperez7669 I would assume at least three to four hours long for an entire run. Unless it pulls the Hades route and you can beat the entire thing on a good roll in about 30 minutes. Apparently it takes at least 10 hours to "complete" Returnal but that's assuming you die a lot I guess. A single whole run then by my estimate would probably take at least 3 hours.

@stephensporman82063 жыл бұрын
There's no manual saving but there are points where the games progress will save such as defeating a boss. Every time you die you start at the crash site but from what I've read the teleporter will move closer to the next area you've unlocked so you don't have to spend all that time going back through a biome from the beginning clearing out all enemies again.
