From an adopted kids point of view I think it’s perfect. This kid was conceived in debauchery to be used as a trap or spare parts , this guy understands this kid and him are in the same situation and he can make a life where they both can be happy with unconditional love something not everyone is born or raise with . Is it right to just have a baby to harvest it for another child? Did that bother anyone else, cause it sure as hell grossed me out. I've heard of many cases such as this and it's beyond my comprehension. Instead he's highlighting his revenge?!?!?! Although his reason to win custody was stupid, the fact he saved this child from having to be a forever donor, is commendable.

As an Army veteran, i believe that if you get married while serving, it should be mandatory that there should be a pre nup with a paternity clause. I've seen this situation and ones like it FAR too many times. Especially when it comes to SOs just looking to get citizenship.

Also you know the service doesn't keep its members away for 3 solid years. He should have taken her or visited up to 30 days a year plus passes.

So that's not how the military even works, your not just gone for 3 years after enlisting, 3 months basic, graduation is public with family. Job training that can be a couple weeks to a year. Then you go to your assigned base, with your family. She's his wife, she should have been sent with him. Story is so fake. This guy didn't take a leave for 3 years? That's 90 vacation days he didn't take, 30 of which are now just gone with no recompense

All depends on the deployment. There are some places where you can't leave until the assignment is done. I just find it absolutely deplorable that his wife and her ex disrespected him like that. He gave up 3 years of his life in service to his country and this is what he comes home to?

Some ops take longer. Some deployments are easier if you just take leave overseas. FaceTime and Skype have made this easier. Being stationed overseas can last as long as 4 years.

Married with dependents is up to two years. And no, you get THIRTY days leave a year. In the almost three full months (of false 3yrs) vacation days he never visited her or had her visit (he said Asia, not Middle East) there is something wrong with YOU. They had a tea shop, she was probably Asian! Also, there is no 3yrs of fighting in Asia. 🤭

So here's an interesting fact regarding the military and its view on cheating spouses. If the spouse is found to be cheating on their military SO while that person is stationed in an area that is considered "hot" (example war zone, north korea or china) and they have a child as a result of the cheating, they can face a great deal of legal issues. What the spouse and/or children do is a direct reflection on the person in the military. Since OP was overseas for 3 years, he can demand a DNA test on that child. He is actually the bigger man for taking custody of the child who was, like OP, the innocent one in all of this.
