Returning the worst purchase of my life-Polaris Ranger 700XP

This is the followup to video to Part 1 where I drove 4.5hrs to buy a Polaris Ranger 700XP. I found out there was much more to it than I had first realized and the seller did the right thing and allowed me to return it and get my money back.

Wait! You bought it for $2400...Thats a steal. And you planned to flip it? Why didn't you spend the money on CV boots and fix the front end? It would have been less than what you spent on gas. The motor sounded strong. Also, just because it has 1800 hours on it doesn't mean miles. A farmer will let it idle for long periods of time while loading. I'm just saying you made a mistake by returning it. It was probably worth 5 to 6 grand. I spent 2500 and rebuilt the motor on mine. cost 300 bucks.

i was thinking the exact same thing. With today's prices, that was a steal even with all the repairs needed. Fix it up and drive it for another 1800 hours!

You only have your self to blame , why drive 4 1/2 hours and then you say you got in a “hurry” . You couldn’t see any of the damage you saw later. It’s called BUYERS REMORSE and 99% of the time you would have not had to make the trip to return it 😢

Yep pretty much exactly what I said on the video. I didn't have time to look it over because I only had basically a 20 minute window or less to make the decision because of his schedule. The whole point of this video is telling everyone why I made a huge mistake and being open and willing to share it with others to help other people not make the same stupid mistake

My 08 700 xp meter quit and man they’re high $$. So I unplugged my big connection on where it hooks to the harness. I had like 3 to 4 pins ate up looked like corrosion. So I made some jumper wires passed the plug and bam back to working. Good luck shopping.

u bought it as is.. Your lucky he was cool, but honestly you bought it without inspecting it, you should have ate the loss. If i was the seller i would have never gave u a refund.

There was a lot of red flags my friend. The dude was sketchy at best from what I saw. Although he did take it back and refunded the $. He didn’t have to do any of that. Ur lucky to only be out time and a few bucks man. Glad it ended well 🤙🏽😎

Have had mine for 4 years without an issue, you got a great deal, you could have fixed it yourself. I bought one broken and fixed it.

Always trust your intuition. And if you’re having trouble trusting your intuition, take every single red flag as a huge backup/boost to your intuition. Glad he took it back. When I’m looking/about to make a deal on something big, my rule is, if there is one red flag then investigate it or find an answer to it. If I can’t find that answer or another red flag pops up, that’s it - I’m out!!

That's great advice. Like I said in the video, the best lessons in life don't come cheap. I'm out a couple days and a bunch of gas but it could be way worse.

You have to lift the center gate latch to open and close the rear tailgate, you didn't do your job of being careful and looking underneath and drive the polaris before to you purchase it.

Great video! I really love your manner, delivery and overall complete honesty about the experience. Too bad it cost and didn’t deliver in the end, but I’m sure you learned a lot. We only learn from adversity and failure so this must have been a huge lesson for you. I have a ‘07 700xp, and overall like it, but it’s a pretty poorly designed vehicle. Many little niggly problems that should be easy to fix but aren’t. Luckily I bought it from an honest friend close by, so generally it worked out well for me. Best of luck finding a ranch vehicle. With your persistence I’m sure you have or will.

Thanks for the comment. I get so many comments on this video talking about how dumb I am and everything else but the only reason I posted it was to help save others from making the same mistakes. I have another video on here with the one I found and ended up with. 2017 ranger 570 mid size. Basically like new in every way. I've had it about a year now and it still has only like 180 hrs on it.
