Not a bad tutorial. I had to remove the seat and the storage box to get to the bolts. Two of the bolts were under the cover and you could not see anything. Those were a real challenge to get. I also had to thaw out the machine to get my hands past the ice. Small hands would be handy.no such luck for me. A wobble extension would have been nice. You will need to detach the air intake from the frame to get the piece off the cover.I strongly recommend checking the belt regularly rather than changing it in the field.

I have a 2013 Ranger 500 midsize with almost 5k miles on it, I've never replaced the belt. It works perfectly and I can tell it's not wearing much as the RPM at take off has not changed since it was new. If the belt was worn thin or narrower the RPM at engagement would be higher. FYI

You must drive it like you're supposed too. I will be replacing the belt on a 570 this week. It's not mine but the company I work for. It's had a rough life..lol.

You might as well plan on doing it every 30 hours because of the default spring in the clutch assembly, It was junk from the factory

My belt is running in the same direction, but my wife isn't, what do I do?

So I squeezed the belt to take it off but I guess I rotated it and now the new one won’t go on . What do I do?

Are you saying that you pulled the belt down in the secondary and when you took the belt off it snapped shut? Most are just like the Ranger shown in the video. You have to take a tool and open the clutch by the rollers. Some are like the turbo and you have to screw a bolt into one of the 2 small holes like in the Outlander video.

Is there a test to check ground speed and engine rpm? I suspect one of the clutches is not doing it's job, (high rpm and low speed even in high gear) Thanks in advance .

Ricardo Gomez there is no rpm test.

Yes it will run without the drive belt. Be sure the belt debris is clear first.

I have a 2005 Polaris ranger and I have installed a after market primary clutch and put a new kit in the secondary clutch and put a new Polaris belt on and it is still slipping and breaking belts like crazy , I broke three this past Saturday in probably 4 hrs times. I need any suggestions

It’s difficult to diagnose what may be wrong with your machine. We suggest checking with a qualified shop to work through the potential causes of repeated belt failures.

I have just come to the conclusion Polaris are fucking juck. 1,300 miles and clutch is shit. I dont mud ,rock climbing or hot rod it. Just run on trap line. Total dam bullshit ! $16,000 and shit. Your not to run to slow ,this that and what the fuck ever. Should of stayed with Honda. Makes me sick ,i am not a rich person.
@armedfarm34292 жыл бұрын
Right, you more than likely were going to slow in HIGH range which is a no no. Use LOW range. To say you need a Honda, ya you're probably right get a Honda, kid proof! LOL

Agree. I have a belt that went 4000 miles, was worn down to 1 1/16". Still all in 1 piece, just wound the engine a bit more than usual. Put my 3rd belt on my 900 xp yesterday with 7000 miles on it.
