The Efteling is really a Dutch Disney park, we came there as a child with our parents, and now we go with our children. The Efteling makes a story behind every attraction. Danse Macabre is their new ride that opens on Halloween

I did Efteling for the first time just over a week ago, and whilst it's a park I'd heard a lot of good things about, the lack of a standout thrill coaster always held it back in priority. I'm so glad we went, it really is such a unique park unlike anywhere else, and I totally understand the hype it gets now. The coasters were solid enough too, nothing groundbreaking but I liked the duelling woodies a lot! Kind of apt you took your parents too... The entire time I was walking around saying 'this is the kind of park my parents would love' 😂

3 top tier dark rides. Theming is perhaps the best in the world. Also has a top tier water ride. If it had an elite coaster it would be contender for best park in the world.

The Efteling is still my favourite park. What people forget about the Efteling, what the Efteling itself tends to forget, is that the Python was legitimately the biggest roller coaster in Europe when it was built. Having big, spectacular coasters is in its DNA as much as the Anton Pieck fairy tale stuff. I wish the Efteling would up their coaster game. Build a hypercoaster, do it, bite the bullet, out-Walibi Walibi, but make it tasteful. That's part of the heritage too.

They can't. They are bound by height restrictions, as formally it is located in a nature park. Hence, all the trees, flowers, birds (there's even a peacock roaming the park), and fish. They could go underground though....

I wish for a intamin blitz. Doesnt have to be the highest or fastest, but just a quality thrill coaster similar to velococoaster, gotham eacape or taron. It would really round out their lineup. A mack stryker, extreme spinner or vekoma launched coaster could be great aswell. Sadly i think they sooner go for something more tame, perhaps closer to hagrids, which would still be lovely

A little interesting info, the man that created the little matchgirl fairytale in the fairytaleforest is called Michel den Dulk. Fast forward, he is now responsible for the Disney Frozen expansion areas around the world. And as a little shoutout to his background at Efteling he hid a little jester in the Japanese rides shop theming. Oh and the Raveleyn showbuilding is also the back of the offices, they planned that pretty smart. And Efteling had worked out plans for a circus themed area with a launch coaster, but got cancelled, I guess after the bankingcrisis and covidyears. But the next project is going to be a park extension at the back of the park with a launchcoaster and I think a new theme. So I really hope something from Hagrids or Taron to maybe Toutatis?

The little Match Girl is a very emotional story. spoiler: she dies in the end, and her grandma comes and takes her to heaven. It ís a bit dark, and very well told. I’ve seen grown people cry over this story.

Also some random facts: -the "crazy little show" in the fairytale forest with the little dolls dancing in the lillies was written by a former Belgian queen for the park's anniversary many years ago -the talking tree has its own TV show in the Netherlands and Belgium -the sleeping beauty fairytale got in the news this past year. It got a refurb to make the fairytale more accurate to the original concept art, which included making the princess' chest noticably bigger. -the Raveleijn show next to Droomvlucht is rumored to close soon, to be replaced by a walkthrough

Love that you went to the Efteling again! Did you know that Villa Volta was actually the first Madhouse that was ever built? This will also be the case with the new ride Danse Macabre, you should really try it once it's finished, I think it'll be such a great experience!

My favorite park :D I went there as a child and still going there also one of the only parks where I don't get sick doing the coasters. That castle thing that you saw that was not open yet will be Danse Macabre which is the dancing dead. It is horror themed indeed with moving seats and Danse Macabre music. It is made as a replacement for "Spookslot" that was in the park before. It will have robots as well. It will be opened the end of this month during Halloween haha.

They are trying to fix the big fish in symbolica right now. It hasnt worked properly for about 2 years now. But they didnt make it accessible for maintenance. So they had to cut a hole in the roof to replace a big part and hopefully it wil work agian soon. And love your videos keep up the work 😊

Agree on DVH, I view it more as a darkride with coaster elements rather than a coaster. The indoor section is definitely the hightlight for me as well. It's not my favorite coaster but definitely my favorite ride. Glad you stayed for Aquanura, while not a ride it's maybe one of the best attractions. At least the best one to close the day.

Nice vlog. Efteling was built before Disney parks and many other themeparks in Europe existed a long time ago. What not many people know Efteling started out as main football field with 2 practice football fields and a playground. After that they built the fairytale park. This history is on the Dutch version of the Efteling website. After they built the fairytale park people from all over the country started coming. Later they added more rides and rollercoasters. Efteling is built in a nature reserve and is not owned by a big company like Disney but by a foundation. That is why prices of food, entry and stay in hotel are much lower than Disney. Efteling doesnt sugarcoat the famous fairytales by the Grimm brothers like Disney does. Because Efteling is one of the oldest themeparks in Europe as said built before Disney parks even existed a lot of themeparks in Europe who were built later took inspiration from The Efteling. I know one Efteling Imagineer works for Disney now in the US. Efteling won the price of best themed themepark in Europe. Even the money ATM and waste bins are themed in Efteling. Efteling is said to be the third best themepark in Europe after Europapark and Phantasialand. Efteling had the first ever Madhouse that was ever built in the world called Villa Volta. They have been building a new hotel that will be themed and also been building one of the most expensive haunted mansions in the world called Danse Macabre. Danse Macabre which is themed as a run down monastery cost millions of euros. The waiting line will be in the cemetery and people will sit on floating church benches in Danse Macabre for a horrific experience . It will probably not be suited for really small children. Haunted mansion Danse Macabre opens at Halloween for the first time. Efteling fans cant wait when it opens. We have one guy here who goes to Efteling 165 days a year so crazy is he about Efteling. He started making daily News items about changes in the park for all the Efteling fans. We have more themeparks in The Netherlands but for most Dutch people Efteling has a special place in their heart. This is because most children went to Efteling with their parents, grandparents or on a school trip. You would think they have a lot of land to built more rides and rollercoasters but they can't due to certain restrictions. The foundation that runs Efteling is focused on theming and keeping the park authentic as it started out.

You have probably seen one of the last times the fire effects were used in the aquanura show, because they removed it recently because of co2 pollution. But im always glad to see my home park get some love from foreigners. My first time will be on 31st of december. Gonna spend the years change there. It's nice that you're so enthusiastic, but even more fun to see how your parents enjoy it. You really give a good idea of the park. Too bad you miss the station of the Flying Dutchman in your video. It's a shame the huge fish was broken since imo it being broken ruins the scene. It's supposed to swim down instead of just sit there blinking its eyes, but the effect was broken for years. Luckily got fixed one or two weeks ago though!

@@zacg_ Uhh, I don’t think there is, though in the more modern attractions (For example Symbolica (2017) or Baron 1898 (2015)) there are parts in English. You can also ask them someone (Most people in the Netherlands know English on a pretty high level, even kids) but this may of course be inconvenient. So in short: Not really, but you can ask someone to translate something or you can search up the text of that they say and translate it. Hope I helped and you understood what I said (My explanations can be a bit messy)

But an English written text is probably asking a bit much. I'll bet some theme park nerd has posted the entire text of the rides and shows at The Efteling so maybe I could just use an online interpretation website or app to get a rough translation.
